A little early. Packing for vacation is so fun. I love thinking about what I'll wear while I enjoy dining, kayaking, snorkeling and otherwise relaxing by the pool with a book & cocktail. My luggage also matches my pink and green tropical wardrobe.

Mostly I have green canvas luggage from Lands End with our initials in pink. Along the way I've collected a few totes from Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines. What is your favorite luggage?

Not sure about you but I've just rediscovered that you are never too old to enjoy playing with stickers.

Lilly Pulitzer makes adorable day timers, and it has loads of stickers that you can put on special dates or just jazz up your To Do list. I still use an old fashioned agenda, I've never used my computer or smart phone. Looking at a calendar helps keep me organized, and I adore making lists and notes. Do you still have a day timer? What is your favorite kind?

Hello Blends! I've been shopping for PJs. We are going to Turks and Caicos for Husbands birthday so I need something for warm weather. A cute PJ dress (why not wear a dress 24/7) or a set with shorts. I'm coming up with great flannels but nothing for summer. JM doesn't have any so anyone with suggestions please let me know!

These are so soft! They are from Munki Munki. The sales person said the elephant trunks facing up is good luck. That freaked me out as I decorated my eldest son's nursery with elephants. But I've checked and all the trunks are in the right position.

Now that I can take pictures of myself in a mirror (something I saw others do but was convinced I'd never figure out) obtaining photos is way easier!

Ladies Lunch

Hello Blends! Happy Thursday. Did you see the article in Vanity Fair about Ladies who Lunch? Or rather, did lunch. What I found most interesting was in the beginning of the piece the ladies that were selected to be interviewed were extremely against being labeled a LWL. They feigned overwhelming busy-ness to be able enjoy such a luxury. I'm not oblivious to the hardships this country faces economically, and understand why one would not want to be portrayed as filling their days with lunches/shopping/spa appointments. I believe by volunteering, paying your taxes and getting involved in the community you are being a good citizen. Spending money with your local stores and restaurants is also beneficial. But, my biggest pet peeve--is people that are SO busy. Everyone has a full plate or brain, but saying you are either so busy or too busy is a cop out. I think if you have time to have lunch with your friends you are playing a critical role in your sanity as being around loved ones reduces stress. Label it what you want, but I'm off to lunch with some lady friends!

I just finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and The Princess Trilogy. I'm dying for a new fun book. Any ideas? I've been stalking amazon.

A few weeks ago my preppy friend Jane asked, when you are too old to wear bows in your hair. I didn't answer her at first because I had to think about it. But then on a "bad behaving" hair day I put my hair in a pony tail and added a ribbon. Which reminded me of ladies I've admired over the years who are older than I am but look lovely with bows in their hair.

Hello Preppy peeps! Hope everyone's weekend is going well. My adorable SIL and family are winding down their home for the holidays and will be headed back to India this week. We've been trying to spend as much time together going out to eat, making dinners, seeing movies, going to the boardwalk and having the cousins play.

Speaking of India! I had the most amazing Indian inspired spa treatment at The Stowe Flake spa in Vermont. Ayurvedic wellness is something I've been dying to try. I had a Abhyanga-Garshana Herbal oil treatment. First your dry skin is buffed with silk gloves. Then hot oil is poured on your scalp and massaged all over your skin to combat cold weather and calm your nervous system (something I need daily). The oils smelled delicious and the treatment was 80 minutes. I was so relaxed and left the oils in my hair overnight to moisturize. It ended with a cup of tea that was so yummy I wish I had bought a box. I highly recommend Ayurvedic!

Hello Darlings! Hope everyone is adjusting to being back to life. We still have Christmas decorations everywhere and ski clothes drying out but I'm confident by this weekend we'll be all back to normal. While at Stowe we had the pleasure of dining at Winfield's Bistro, which is my son's name.

Such a stinker! When he was born I promised to take him to The Wynn hotel in Las Vegas. I need to find a restaurant, hotel or a song with my name--I feel so neglected. As a child my Grandparents had a book made about a little girl named Beth with a pet Giraffe named Hteb (my name backwards). I guess that gave me grandiose feelings of entitlement that have led to this disappointment. The name Winfield seems more common than Beth!

Happy New Year! I trust everyone had a terrific time. We visited Stowe, Vermont for some skiing. Every now and then I like to take a break from the internet. We don't have the day off today, boys are back at school/work so I'm compiling my To Do list. Besides making annual doctors appointments I do a few other cleaning projects around the house. Not sure why but January always seems like the time to tackle mundane projects. Do you make resolutions? I find they are hard to stick with.

I was in NYC yesterday with family and friends. Loved seeing the city all decorated for The Holidays. Santa will be here before you know it. We had cocktails at The Waldorf but Rockefeller Center was really alive with Christmas cheer. The tree, the skating and all the people really made it feel like a party.

Thankful Thursday

There is so much to be Thankful for! Of course I worship my family and friends. Prayers are sent daily for my health and previously mentioned F&F. This Thursday I'm feeling particularly grateful for a sense of humor and not taking life so seriously.

For example: Our Landscaper (who has known Husband since childhood), asked me--"When are you going to take off your Pajamas?" To set up the scene a bit, it was 1:00PM and I had run several errands. Baffled by this question I simply smiled and walked away thinking he was totally teasing me. Then it dawned on me, I was wearing brightly printed pink pants from Lilly Pulitzer, he actually thought they were PJs.

Another example of humor:

Instead of bringing a bottle of wine to a Christmas Dinner Party I brought a Box of Wine! Box of Wine--what could be funnier? They used to be considered tacky and tasted gross. Now they are very eco friendly and supposed to be yummy. I added a green JM bow and we all had a good laugh.

Christmas Decorating

Hello! My youngest has been home sick. Add that to a never ending To Do list and plenty of holiday shopping hanging over my head and the end result--overwhelmed/stressed. Today everyone is healthy, back at school and I'm checking into the spa. Husband's Christmas party is tonight but I'm skipping it as my cousin is on the game show Jeopardy. In the meantime as the Frat House never ceases to leave me bewildered, I'll share with you what those boys do to my yard at Christmas time.

Do you watch Ellen?

The Ellen DeGeneres Show makes me smile! Oprah was on my TV almost all afternoons at 4:00PM, it was sort of my down time before dinner and homework. Crying almost always occurred. Now that her show has ended I've been watching Ellen. Ellen is very funny but she also brings tears to my eyes--not in the same way. Yes, she helps people that are struggling. But she also finds fans and surprises them with tickets to see their favorite artist in concert or meet them. I love how she brings screams of joy to people. Seeing someone so overcome with excitement is contagious. I so wish I could do that or help in some small way. If you haven't caught the show I highly suggest it as a small hour to celebrate and share in the joy. Everyone needs time in their busy lives to laugh!

It's December! I can't believe it. Hope you all are having a great week. A few issues/questions:

Is anyone else obsessed with Homeland? It's on Showtime. This is a new low for me. I actually go to the chat sites after the show to make predictions and see others reactions to make sure I didn't miss a thing. I don't think I've been this obsessed with a show since Melrose Place.

Anyone tried Ayurvedic wellness spa treatments? I've not and am going to a spa that offers this therapy. What do I get???

Lastly, I'm bothered. Not hurt, not angry but I'd call it slightly annoyed and maybe a bit offended. But also confused at why anyone would feel this way. Sorry, I hate this word but Sperm Banks are no longer accepting donations from Men with red hair. HUH? Why? I love my hair color (although you can really only see my red hair in sunlight) and I love my son's red hair, my nephews and anyone else for that matter. I love being a little unique. I protest this!

If I can't drive Bunny I don't want to go. For my mid life crisis Husband gifted me a convertible 2 seater. It doesn't have much trunk space and can't hold my family. But I love it! It's gotten to the point that I buy less at the grocery store so I can still drive her. Am I demented?

Do you love your car? Has this ever happened to anyone else? I've named the car. We say things like, "I put Bunny in her cage." And, "I put Bunny's hat on."

Happy Thanksgiving Blends! Total shame attack as I realize this entire month has passed and I didn't do my Thankful and grateful blog post. Promise to do a ton of them in the new year. Soho Kate Spade is one of my favorite stores. We have a small store at the mall near where I grew up but it pales in comparison to this spot. I'm not a trend setter, I'm ok with that. But I'd like to take this tiny opp to brag. This jacket Kate Spade is selling this season--I had one custom made for me in 2005. Have you ever been ahead of a trend? This will literally be the only time but I'll take it! Happy Turkey Day, I love you all.

Holy weekend. I hope you all had a blast. We were in New York City and had a ball! The Tribeca Grand Hotel is lovely. We even had a pet fish in our room. He was so cute and had these big bulgy eyes.

Don't worry I didn't drop him.

I wore Lilly Pulitzer while we hit: Kate Spade, Balthazar, and Cipriani. After the most amazing spin class at Soulcycle we had brunch at Pastis. Love New York!

Preppy in the city. Since I'm checking into the Tribeca Grand Hotel I'm blogging a day early. Kate Spade in Soho will be one of my first stops as I'm in full Christmas shopping mode. It's also a dear friends birthday. Before I go I have to share with you my new favorite dress. It's JM and called the Panama Wrap Dress. It is so comfortable I bought three. The collar is elegant, and the material makes it machine washable (the price isn't bad either). My sorority sister KK works at J. McLaughlin in NYC, she always helps me find amazing prints in my size.

Our Boatman Geller Christmas cards arrived! With Thanksgiving around the corner my son's are brimming with excitement about what Santa will bring.

I wrote the list but Wyn wrote Dear Santa and signed it. I feel like all I've been blogging about is stationary but promise to get back to fashion next blog as I'm going to New York City and how can't you think fashion when there. Anyway Wyn has cards from William Arthur that I get from By Invitation Only. This may be the last year he actually writes Santa so I had to take a picture. Hello Blends! I hope you had a terrific weekend. We spent the weekend in Cape May, it was beautiful. We stayed at Congress Hall (so pretty). First we lunched at The Lobster House--yummy! Lobster is hands down my favorite food (2nd would be Alaskan King Crab legs). Dinner was at The Ebbit Room at The Virginia, omg the food is like butter. We topped it off with breakfast at The Blue Pig Tavern, so yes we basically ate our way through the town.

Who is your style Icon?
My style icon, as cliche as it may or may not be is Chuck Bass. He dresses up regardless of the occasion and is always on spot! While I am still in denial about his actual existence, I would love to have access to his wardrobe for even five minutes! If i had to pick a real person, it would have to be Jeffery Marks, a well known interior designer who resides in LA, yet always looks as if he just stopped off the plain from Nantucket!

What are your fashion must haves?
As someone who appreciates and loves fashion, I am not a follower of it, instead I stick to classic basics and turn them up with my quirky nature. My must haves are a good pair of loafers, off the charts 'go to hell pants,' my barbour and a bow tie.

If someone asked you for fashion advice or interior decorating what would be you top tips?

I feel that the best way to stay 'with the times' is to not change and follow the trends, instead, stick to the classics you know and love. Acquire things over time and mix them in with what you already have. Make sure to put your own twist on whatever you do, break a rule or two, but have the confidence to back it up.

When did you begin loving all things style?
I have always been concerned with my appearance, my parents surely created this monster. I always new I wanted to do something in the architecure field. Always.

Favorite Drink: Whatever matches my pants ... so usually a Cosmo!

Favorite Book: The Great Gatsby and The OFPHB

What do you do on a free day?
On a free day I can be spotted running up and down Newbury Street shopping, at the gym or flying up the New England coast to my family's house in Maine.

Hello Blends! I have the most amazing guest lined up for the weekend, if you aren't already you will want to follow him on Twitter.

Halloween was so cute. The children in our neighborhood are SO polite. Tons of smiles, it warmed my heart. I really enjoyed wearing orange for the last week. On Halloween even my hanky panky's were orange. Speaking of did you know you can get Hanky's with leopard print now? I'm obsessed.

Tory Burch sweater (love the ruffled sleeve), Skirtin' around skirt, And "the only Missoni for Target I bought" tights (don't they look like spider webs?). I'm getting a massage today and then writing my book. Sorry it's taking so long. Not that you are all dying for it, personally I had hoped to be finished by the new year.

Happy Halloween! Wyn has a parade and party at school. He is something from Star Wars. Star Wars is way more complicated now, I can only remember The Princess, Luke (huge crush when I was little) and the tall furry guy. Speaking of my Luke crush I used to also be in the Hardy Boy's fan club, Oh Sean Cassidy--all I have to say is the doo run run run, the doo run run! Greye is a Ganster! He's at the age that I have to drive him to his friends to trick or treat. People are bussed into our neighborhood, including my neice and her friends but that isn't "cool" enough for Greye. I will wear a cute orange outfit with a witch hat, but it is far too cold for me--I'll hand out candy.

A few hours early! I'm off to Michigan for a family wedding so I won't be able to blog tomorrow. So excited to see my cousins. Obviously I'm gutted Husband and frat boys won't be joining me but in a way it's better. Every time Husband hangs out with this side of my family he leaves baffled. Not because they aren't fabulous (they so are) but he truly becomes concerned and says things like, "what happened to you?" It's a bit insulting, so I'm not a genius/don't have a million degrees/a good job/ or go to Ivy colleges. So what, I have a great wardrobe and am still wearing orange!

My Grandfather was a Pathologist. My Mother saved one of his organ jars which is an antique from the 1930'a (yes, I know, gross). She recently gifted it to me in case Husband wanted to put eye balls in it for his office (even grosser).

I filled it with scented acorns, pumpkins and gourds instead and found a new home for it organ free next to my fire place!

Hello Blends I hope you had a terrific weekend. We joined two other families in Sky Top this weekend. Sky Top is in The Poconos and SO pretty. The hotel totally reminds me of the hotel from The Shining, a great scary movie to watch around Halloween. Getting away is an amazing way to relax because all of the items on my to do list simply cannot get done. Hello Blends! I'm missing socialite Saturday this weekend but wanted to leave you with some new excitement at our house. Husband recently got a new car, he always has the same car but the color changes. So of course I monogrammed it! 2 Preppy Girls provides us with all of our fun car monograms (among other things).

How do you decorate for Halloween? The boys love when we decorate the house for any holiday. I adore pumpkins! Both boys were pumpkins until they were old enough to select their own Halloween costume.

In blog land it's pink & green Thursday but I'm talking brown and blue today. I'm in love with the color brown. I bought OPI "Suzi Loves Cowboys," a chocolate brown polish

But I think it looks so dark it might as well be OPI "Lincoln Park After Dark," What do you think?
Also, I have an issue with my cute coach loafers. They are way to "retired in palm beach," dusty light blue to wear very often.

They have a brown stripe on the strap but I don't wear a lot of blue and I don't think this color shoe would actually look good with chocolate brown. Plus, the color is very summer, I can't see myself wearing them in the winter. But I don't wear loafers in the summer, I wear open toe shoes. Any ideas what I color, other than blue, they would look cute with so I can wear them more often?

Hello Blends. This was a neat little virus, I am better in 2 days--only my children are lucky enough to heal that fast (usually). Although the lingering humidity is making me crazy I'm feeling organized and am managing a massage with peppermint scalp treatment and lemongrass foot scrub with hot towels. That should purge any left over germs! I'm loving the new show Two Broke Girls, has anyone seen it? It's cute.

This is what I wore to the Shultz-Hill Fundraiser at Resorts in Atlantic City Saturday night. Obsession #1 is the piano though. The only song I remember is the Minuet in G by Bach. And I'm even messing up keys on that song. If challenged I could probably pull out mary has a little lamb and chopsticks. How pathetic. The problem isn't lessons, it's learning how to read music again. Do any of you all know how to play or take lessons?

Blends, Oh my gosh. I wanted to write about my new paino. Or my writing, my new favorite shows, all the gossip with real housewives, who will replace regis, very pressing things are weighing on my mind. But, we had a play date that turned scary movie fast. The Winfield has begun riding his bike without training wheels and wanted to show off to 2 of his bff in the hood. The boys ran threw the woods star wars style and ended up with 6 bee stings between 2 boys (Wyn only had 1 so sad for the other boy). Bees ended up on their clothes so therefore in our house as we were treating the other boo boos. The boys were screaming! Thank goodness Husband was home (and is a dr) and I actually figured out how to turn on our vaccuum to suck them in and take them outside. SCARY! But everyone is OK. Tag! 5 Goals for Fall

My love, Queen Bee Swain, tagged me for my 5 goals for Fall. I have say first--thank you for your feedback on La Mer. I really want ALL of your beauty secrets so do spill. If anyone has "a lot" to say let me know I'd love to interview you and full credit will be given in my next book.

So of course my 1st goal is to finish my new book! I'm so excited to share it with you all. Wish I could tell you when it will be available but since it's not finished and therefore not edited I can only hope very early 2012.

2nd goal: make exercising more regular. Summer it was around 2x a week. For the fall I want it more like, 5 x a week.

Shopping of course. I love printed pants and comfy sweaters. What do you think of J. Crew's boyfriend sweater?

I love that it falls off the shoulder a bit. But, at a closer look it is an almost $300 cashmere sweatshirt. I'm in the market for more loose necks/cowl neck sweaters.

4th goal. To be less stressed and lose temper less often. I just don't transition well, whether it's back to school or the beginning of summer. I freak. And I don't want to.

5th and final goal. Oh my gosh, I have so many dreams and aspirations but I can't really call them "Fall" goals. More like, forever goals. So this is the hardest. OK everything I'm coming up with is either lame or too personal. Honestly, I really want a beautiful brass door knocker in a ships wheel for my front door.

I've used their eye cream and thought it was nice, but I've used others with similar results that are less expensive. However, I know people that live for this cream. I didn't get the serum or night cream. Just the day cream. Please share your experience with La Mer. Should I get the whole line to really see a difference?

Hello Blends!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We are ecstatic. Awards were given for the adult sailing races at the club last night. Let me tell you, these men have been sailing together before my children were born. The Captain, a dear friend of ours has: hired a private instructor from Annapolis to train the crew (Husband is on the team), hired a professional sailor to sail with him, taken the crew to Annapolis to practice sailing, woken up his crew at wee hours of the morning to clean the bottom of the boat (please note the boat is in the water so the crew is in scuba gear) so it will go faster. The Captain has had custom J boats designed so he would be more competitive. He has changed the name of his boat so many times, we have to throw out lovely shirts/jackets monogrammed with the past names. I can't even remember the name of the boat, it has changed so often. My BFF

The Captains wife and I have been laughing at them for the last 13 years as they always come in last. Well! Not this year

They came in 2nd!!! The hottest Eye Drs I've ever seen. Congratulations Relentless, you are just that!

Normal weekday schedule so I can get some writing done (no more running back & forth to several camps)

A detox for my liver, all the late nights on the beach/club were going to send me to Betty

Irene is approaching. We evacuated the shore and are back home. I hope to be back at the shore Sunday. Only 1 week left and I'm anxious to enjoy my final days para sailing and water skiing. Between the earthquake and this hurricane I've been anxiety attacking. Today I took a bath for the first time in weeks. I love being scrubbed and marinated in salts and gardenia scented oils/soaps. Our neighbors are tons of fun so once we've secured our house I think it will be wine thirty. Stay safe and dry!

2nd to last week at the shore. I'm really going to miss my summer friends and all of the fun we have boating and beaching. In the mean time I'm putting my monogramming to good use. My dear friend Lisa, also the brilliant florist at Robertson's that decorated my preppy birthday party, was the latest victim. In a kayak race she was hit in the face with a paddle that left a scratch on the bridge of her nose. Thankfully she was fine but she was really worried about how it looked.

Happy weekend. I hope everyone is having a great time. The boys are racing today so I plan on relaxing at the yacht club and enjoying the view. Husband is sailing his own boat, usually he sails with a team on a larger boat. OMG he is cracking me up! He cleaned the bottom of the boat and did repairs so his boat will go faster. Then he was studying his Laser boat book. Then he and Greye talked "tactics" and reviewed the race course vs wind/tide. Then he only had one beer last night ( a record low for a Friday) and went to bed early. I think he'll win--but only because he is the only adult racing so he won't have any competition. Such a cutie

Last night my gf brought crab cakes and lobster mashed potatoes (YUM) and we drank champagne. Tomorrow we have a fund raiser for a dear friend running for some political office I'm not familiar with--but I hope he wins!

Hello! We are knee deep in Family Regatta weekend at OCYC and tonight is poker and a movie on the lawn. I wanted to wrap up my birthday toast, "40 things I've learned now that I'm 40."

Hello Blends! Husband has informed me the year of celebrating my birthday has come to a close. He even wrote "Beth's Birthday is Over" as a to do line item in my agenda/day planner. Well guess what! Hello Blends!! I had the best time at the luncheon yesterday, and I took a great pic with Leanne Tuohy. I don't have it yet as it was by a professional and they will get it to me at a later date. She is very inspirational, funny and cute as a button.

Her basic message? You don't have to adopt a 200 + lb kid to make a difference. Boys and Girls Clubs across the country are making a difference in children's lives. Donate your time or even $20 and you can change a life. I love that about charity work--little or small you can help someone. Even if you, yourself feel you need help. Doesn't helping others make you feel better?

I'm officially in summer mode. Drove 3+ hours today for camps, yes plural. My youngest son is not old enough to sail so I go to multiple camps each day. No wonder I hate summer.

Happy Fathers Day

Husband is the best Daddy. I don't even think my son's realize it. Husband doesn't want Greye to go to sleep away camp next summer because he's afraid he'll miss him too much.

People have asked me before how I found such a great man to marry. My theory? My Father rocks. Speaking of camp he drove me to and fro every summer. And then wrote me a letter every day. He drove me to college (my mother was skiing in Argentina--not that I blame her). I worship my Father. I'm a total DLG--but not in the "no one will ever be good enough for my little girl," type Daddy. He empowers me, he told me I could do whatever I wanted when I grew up. Even when I was diagnosed with ADD, my father told me I was smart. My Father has always believed in me, and gives me the BEST advice. But don't get too excited he thinks anyone that would marry me (and my clothing habit is asking for trouble) is a fool. After all I was voted "First Divorced" in middle school.

We have a luau today. I'm pretty sure any of my Lilly Pulitzer dresses will do.

This is my adorable nephew Duncan. Little sweetie, I was hugely pregnant with Greye when I first held him. I babysat him when he was 8 weeks old so my SIL could go to a movie. I was so tired after only a few hours--now I feel that tired every day with 2 boys of my own. And the little cutie isn't even upset I named a drunk womanizer after him in my novel.

Hello Blends!!

I wish blogger could be more like twitter. In minutes miracles (or just lovely things) happen that I want to share with you, but then my ADD makes me forget. Like.....

When I gave my friend Kim her lame hostess flowers (they were star gaver lilly's from Acme--the shame), she went outside her house and picked branches from trees and bushes and turned them into a lovely centerpiece. Who does that? So cool!

When my mother made me vaccuum her room, she is recovering from a hip replacement. I've never even vaccuumed my own home. I did it wearing a Lilly Pulitzer dress!

When I have to yell at Hermes to let me finish a sentence because we both have horrible ADD but still like to speak 4 times a day--explain that?

When I was shopping at Skirtin' around and the owner says, "you wrote Social Climbers? I chill my wine in the freezer for 30 minutes since I read your book!" Obviously she is my new bff.

Each day is filled with cute, small little miracles. Thank God each day when you wake up (when I wake up I first curse husband for waking me--but then thank God for husband). Be so grateful for your health!!!

Hello Lovies! Hope you had a great weekend. I've been snacking on my humble pie.

Remember how I bragged about my rafting trip under the largest water fall in the world? How I scoffed at the ahem, trip I'd be totally fine taking in the Poconons. LET ME TELL YOU! I was So wrong. That place is NUTS. I dressed in Lesley Evers, wasn't at all worried it'd get wet. Had on my sunny's and laughed at my gf's suggestion to leave them behind in case they fell off, as if!

OMG the trip started off peaceful and calm (as I secretly laughed to myself that paddling down this pond would be a cake walk.) Then.... the rapids were crazy. They had opened some dam and just as we hit an un-forseen rock I fell out. I'm not kidding--the rapids literally tore me away (far away) from my boat. I was So scared. I'm fine. I lived (after a demonic, exorcist temper tantrum) husband retrieved me and got me back on our raft. BTW, the sunglasses stayed on my head!!!

Again, I've been showing up a bit early recently! Off to Pocono Lake Preserve for white water rafting and zip lining for the weekend. Very fun. My anxiety is at an all time high but I white water rafted on the Zambezi under Victoria Falls in Africa, so I think I'll be O.K.

Live! with Regis and Kelly was a BLAST!!!!! First of all--they are both so sweet and hysterically funny. Kelly was my bff within the first commercial break. Her outfit was to die for cute. I told her how I was at Balthazar the night before and she actually told me where she lived. Not that I'm spilling that secret. Then I pulled a TOTAL SC move. Jason Lee was doing his interview and mentioned a public appearance in the Poconos this weekend. Well I just couldn't help myself. During the commercial break I'm like, "Jason." And He looks at me like, "What?" So I say, "I'm going to the Poconos too this weekend." He looked at me like I was nuts and said, "See you there."

Again, a bit early. BUT I'm going to NYC--I'm so excited (heart palps thrilled). I love the energy of New York. The possibilities the city brings. It's not like I grew up on a farm. Philadelphia was my back yard, and now so is Atlantic City (laughable). New York breaths life into me.

Once at Tracie Martyn after a facial I saw Kate Winslet and DVF! I'm just dying of the potential! I always stay at The Mercer, it's like a country club---Hello Mrs. Dunn, what can we do for you Mrs. Dunn. LOL

The BEST is my bff Kim and I are going to Live! with Regis and Kelly. This show literally got me through both of my baby's. I'm beyond on cloud nine.

Hello Preppy's. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. My SIL sweetly bought me a bay house that she conveniently can't use as she lives in India. Isn't she a dear?

For Mother's day my son's each made me a flower pen. I LOVE these pens. They make me SO happy everytime I use/see them.

Someone needs to sell these, they magically make me so happy. Don't you love the pen holder? I got it in Stratton, it looks like a log.

A little early. Mommie has surgery tomorrow. I'll be at the Bryn Mawr hospital all day and won't beable to blog. She will be fine, she is constructed from strong Scottish stock--and always is.

On a lighter note, now that the shore season has begun so has fishing. My boys love to fish. I, of course, only fished a few times in Martha's Vineyard--enough to get the ring. But I'm loving Lilly Pulitzer's new long necklaces this season.

Happy Memorial Day! God bless our troops and never, ever forget.

Opening night at our yacht club was a blast. Feels like yesterday we had closing night but when I think of all we've been through this year I know it's not quite that simple. I am so embarassed to admit this but I don't love summer. My hair is a mess, I'm hot, tired, a taxi driver and over all bothered. I so want to change this situation, so next summer I'm moving to New Hampshire to my favorite Lake. I just can't take it anymore and I'm sick of being in a 2 month bad mood. So until next summer I'll visit Tranquil Touch Day Spa to try to ease the stress that summer brings.

My theory is now that "summer" isn't time off from school but rather a perpectual slave to camp I can no longer tolerate my summer hair. Do you love summer?

Happy Memorial Day weekend. I hope you are all enjoying yourselves. Husband dresses in some truly ridiculous outfits (on purpose) to irritate me. I adore Husband but secretly think he may be color blind. Since he won't listen to his well dressed wife I send him over to a local treasure called Pete's surf shop. Located in Central Square in Linwood, Pete's is a rarely found boutique full of awesome clothing for those of us that live at the shore an enjoy all the trappings shore life offers.

Hello Blends!!!! Hope you all had a great weekend. Some how I ended up doing shots of tequila in a bar in front of a dear family friend I hadn't seen in 3 years (he introduced me to Blue Hill, Maine. Is the best skier, taught me to love chesapeak retrievers and knew Lester Lanin personally)--complete class act! Oh well we had a great weekend. Party planning is under way and I'm itchy with excitment as opening night at our Yacht Club is on Saturday, along with the arrival of my sister in law (and family) from India. I almost can't contain myself.

Today I wanted to share my favorite flowers that make me SO HAPPY! I did my entire wedding with them too.
