WASP Wednesday

Naples, Florida is a terrific community. Enjoying the beautiful outdoors is one of the reasons I go but....the shopping is tops!  I always hit C. Orrico. Before Lilly Pulitzer had stores C. Orrico carried Lilly and I lived to visit Palm Beach to stalk up on one of my favorite brands.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

WASP Wednesday

Today is my first acupuncture treatment. I'm so excited, you'd think I was going someplace fun. Promise to keep everyone posted. Since I've been complaining about my wardrobe recently I thought I'd share a simple solution to the clothing blues.....

Sometimes a simple all black outfit can feel elegant and pulled together even if when you don't. It was my girlfriends surprise birthday party last night and I wanted to be comfortable but still dressed. JM pants, Lilly Pulitzer sweater and Manolo Blahnik shoes. I hope you are all having a terrific week!

Socialite Saturday!

Happy Weekend. The frat boys are off of school so we are playing with friends and seeing movies. Today they are seeing a lacrosse game so I'm seeing "This Means War" with a girl friend. It looks so cute!

I'm a huge fan of the Jonah dress from Lilly Pulitzer. It is super comfortable. Casual clothes are a big pitfall for me. I love dresses but fret over what to wear all other times. Am I alone?

Have a great day.

Monogram Monday!

Hello and I hope everyone had a terrific weekend. My new obsession is I want to try acupuncture. Has anyone done it? Did you love it?

They are very hard to see but I'm wearing adorable boat anchor earrings from Kiel James Patrick, they went perfectly with my Lilly Pulitzer shift and Tory Burch navy blue clogs (sorry the whole outfit isn't in the picture).

Socialite Saturday!

Hello Blends! Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.  It may sound cliche but I really do love the super bowl commercials and am super excited for the Madonna half time show. Friends of ours are having a party and after feeling like an extra in the movie The Fugitive I'm looking forward to going out. They caught the escaped prisoner but first our schools were on lock down and I had a major panic attack. To recover I went to the tailor to have my valentines dress hemmed.

This is my favorite cover up from Lilly Pulitzer. I really can't say enough about how lovely The Grace Bay Club is. The food is amazing and we even had a private dinner on the beach. One night there was a man putting out flames with his mouth!

WASP Wednesday

A little early.  Packing for vacation is so fun. I love thinking about what I'll wear while I enjoy dining, kayaking, snorkeling and otherwise relaxing by the pool with a book & cocktail.  My luggage also matches my pink and green tropical wardrobe.

Mostly I have green canvas luggage from Lands End with our initials in pink. Along the way I've collected a few totes from Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines. What is your favorite luggage?

Bon Voyage!

Monogram Monday!

Not sure about you but I've just rediscovered that you are never too old to enjoy playing with stickers.

Lilly Pulitzer makes adorable day timers, and it has loads of stickers that you can put on special dates or just jazz up your To Do list. I still use an old fashioned agenda, I've never used my computer or smart phone. Looking at a calendar helps keep me organized, and I adore making lists and notes.  Do you still have a day timer? What is your favorite kind?

Thankful Thursday

There is so much to be Thankful for! Of course I worship my family and friends. Prayers are sent daily for my health and previously mentioned F&F. This Thursday I'm feeling particularly grateful for a sense of humor and not taking life so seriously.

For example: Our Landscaper (who has known Husband since childhood), asked me--"When are you going to take off your Pajamas?"  To set up the scene a bit, it was 1:00PM and I had run several errands. Baffled by this question I simply smiled and walked away thinking he was totally teasing me. Then it dawned on me, I was wearing  brightly printed pink pants from Lilly Pulitzer, he actually thought they were PJs.

Another example of humor:

Instead of bringing a bottle of wine to a Christmas Dinner Party I brought a Box of Wine! Box of Wine--what could be funnier? They used to be considered tacky and tasted gross. Now they are very eco friendly and supposed to be yummy. I added a green JM bow and we all had a good laugh.

Monogram Monday

Holy weekend. I hope you all had a blast. We were in New York City and had a ball! The Tribeca Grand Hotel is lovely. We even had a pet fish in our room. He was so cute and had these big bulgy eyes.

Don't worry I didn't drop him.

I wore Lilly Pulitzer while we hit: Kate Spade, Balthazar, and Cipriani.  After the most amazing spin class at Soulcycle we had brunch at Pastis. Love New York!

My Lilly Pulitzer habit is on fire.  I've always loved toile everything--wall paper, linens, and most of all clothes.

I'm also loving their wedges!  You have to check out the sketch of me.  CSD art and illustration has gifted me one of the most personal and lovely gifts EVER. Wardrobe Wednesday!  She is so talented! I've followed her blog longer than I can remember, but one of ME? SC??

Monogram Monday

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Greye came in 2nd place at the Regatta, Husband didn't quite place as well. While I scored 1/2 price Lilly Pulitzer clothes (which I promise to share with you later this week, as I've also scored full price items this week).  Thank you for having us LBI!  I'm gearing up to spend some time in New York City this weekend. Just wanted to share a picture with my lunch date yesterday.

I had a lobster (my fav) at The Black Whale and Wyn had chicken fingers and french fries. The only time a date of mine gets a kids meal!

WASP Wednesday

The Preppy Mafia is in full force playing practical jokes and monogramming everyone in our path. My adorable regatta mother friends accidentally walked in on a taping of  The Jersey Shore. So naturally I....

bought them a "free snooki" & "GTL" shirts. I love that Tracy is wearing her Jersey Shore shirt with Lilly Pulitzer pants. The pink beer bong is also part of the joke.

Hello Blends! Hope you are all having a terrific week. I have a proper ladies lunch today and then back to regatta mother status tomorrow. I wanted to share a few more pictures from my birthday party and then I'll share the toast I made, "40 things I've learned now that I'm 40."

I had Lilly  Pulitzer garland
Even the staff wore pink!

Socialite Saturday

SPOILED!! O.K. back to my birthday. As a tease I must say I've become quite the prankster and have been monogramming EVERYONE at OCYC. So once I've wrapped up the birthday pics I'll be sharing the fun part of my summer.  You have to check out my gifts!
Seriously spoiled! Thank you to all of my friends and family (and a few blends) for making me feel so loved and special. I put "your presence is present enough" on the invite but clearly no one listened. Literally I have more Lilly Pulitzer than a store. luggage, yoga mat, wine glasses, hand towels, cooler, jewelry, dresses, the list could go on and on. I LOVE you all!

Socialite Sunday

Hope everyone is prepared for all of the heat we are getting. Heat makes me crazy. But I have so many fun things to blog about, that should keep my spirits up. I wanted to talk about the decor for my 40th. I wanted everything to be pink & green, monogrammed and Lilly Pulitzer inspired.

I had 40 pink flamingos
My signature drink was a pink margarita with a lime as garnish
pink & green table linens
the staff wore pink shirts
I had hurricane lanterns filled with water, a candle and a pink gerber daisy floating
Lilly Pulitzer garland
pink carnation ball centerpieces
green lilly pads with pink flowers floating in the pool
pink straws with my monogram
Lilly Pulitzer plates and napkins
green napkins with my pink monogram
Cups with my monogram in pink
pink twinkle lights on the fence
pink & green balloons
Pink and green fire works (I'm not even a little kidding)
koozie party favors that were pink and green

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I created my own little heaven in my back yard.
And, my landscaper even planted me a palm tree!!!

Socialite Saturday

Hello Blends! Husband has informed me the year of celebrating my birthday has come to a close. He even wrote "Beth's Birthday is Over" as a to do line item in my agenda/day planner. Well guess what! I snuck in another birthday celebration last night at dockside with friends and today finally opened my presents. Husband is at beach lacrosse so I'm still celebrating and will be for the next few days with you all. I have so much to tell you! I did a speech "40 things I've learned now that I'm 40." And I think Hermes has a recording of it so I will try to figure out how to upload that. But let's start at the beginning....

The invitation. The liner of the envelope was yellow too. So pretty! I just love receiving a beautiful invitation.

We have Night in Venice tonight in Ocean City. I've been attending this boat parade since birth so I can't wait. I have a Lilly Pulitzer outfit all planned out.

I was born on Bastille Day, so therefore I'm as fab as a french women---right? Except I'm English and  Scottish, or a "Scott," as my mother always corrects. But is "Scott" with 2 T's? I have so many fun things to share with you about the party and my birthday party. This is a picture of my Lilly Pulitzer dress, monogrammed cups and Daddy.

Happy Tuesday

Oh Blends! I have been spinning around in circles. My birthday party was so fun. I felt so much love. Entering into a new decade was something I made peace with a few months ago. But in the past I've never enjoyed my birthday. Summer is so busy and it seems to go by un noticed. Well not this year. I promise to be back with photos and lots of details as some of you actually supplied me with decor for the preppy, Lilly Pulitzer, monogram theme of the evening.

Love you all

Socialite Saturday!

Happy Fathers Day

Husband is the best Daddy. I don't even think my son's realize it. Husband doesn't want Greye to go to sleep away camp next summer because he's afraid he'll miss him too much.

People have asked me before how I found such a great man to marry. My theory? My Father rocks. Speaking of camp he drove me to and fro every summer. And then wrote me a letter every day. He drove me to college (my mother was skiing in Argentina--not that I blame her). I worship my Father. I'm a total DLG--but not in the "no one will ever be good enough for my little girl," type Daddy. He empowers me, he told me I could do whatever I wanted when I grew up. Even when I was diagnosed with ADD, my father told me I was smart. My Father has always believed in me, and gives me the BEST advice. But don't get too excited he thinks anyone that would marry me (and my clothing habit is asking for trouble) is a fool. After all I was voted "First Divorced" in middle school.

We have a luau today. I'm pretty sure any of my Lilly Pulitzer dresses will do.

This is my adorable nephew Duncan. Little sweetie, I was hugely pregnant with Greye when I first held him. I babysat him when he was 8 weeks old so my SIL could go to a movie. I was so tired after only a few hours--now I feel that tired every day with 2 boys of my own. And the little cutie isn't even upset I named a drunk womanizer after him in my novel.
How do you celebrate Father's Day?
