Preppy Handbook

Now that we are back in school I was trying to think of a fun new tag, challenge and then do a give away. None of which I have ever created from scratch. I've only joined in on the ones that all my blogger friends do. So if anyone has any advice or interest in joining in let me know. Nothing too taxing just fun!

We all know how much of a preppy person I am so I thought I'd do a "The Official Preppy Handbook" theme. I can't believe The Entertaining Mom (House/Kitchen) had not heard of Eagles Eye. That was Lilly Pulitzer of the 80's (when Lilly sadly went on the DL for a few years).

I did buy both the Lesley Evers dress and the Kate Spade.

Stay tuned as I work out my ideas.

xoxo

BETH

  2. My Mom used to visit the Eagle's Eye outlet in North Conway, NH each summer and stock up on festive fall sweaters for my 5 year old self. I think we still have some stocked away at my parent's house!

  9. ok I STILL don't know what they are Beth... but I am way cool because my school was mentioned in the preppy handbook and the page was all dog eared tattered and torn... my dad was in finance and handled all fashion accounts. I wore his clients from 70s to 80s... i had a helluva lot of ralph lauren, lacoste and when he helped Calvin raise ransom $$$ nothing came between and my calvins... but I wore them with my Laura Ashley sweaters or Bean Norwegian sweater ;) Geeeez, I wish he was still in that industry!

  17. nope... I really don't think I had any...I forgot to mention that when I was not wearing my school shoes -- bluchers or loafers (cause they did not go well with my tight Calvin's!!!) I had a pair of clogs (Freye I think) that I coveted. I was forbidden. FORBIDDEN to wear them at home as our apartment (I grew up on Upper East Side) was all hard wood and those shoes were LOUD!

I still have NO idea what the Heck Eagle Eye is. One of my bff's from camp grew up in Bala Cynwid (did I spell that right?)... would she have had some?

This is seriously driving me batty!

I need all of you Eagle Eye wearers to post pictures of your apparel! LOL

  23. Just thought I'd pop by to say "hello" once again.., I see that you are planning a giveaway as well as, working on the preppy theme book.., Fun!.., Thought I would let you know about my: *The French Dressing Room, blog, for two reasons; firstly because, (though I would not be ready to partake in a give away just yet), nonetheless, please do feel most welcome to pop by to visit when you get a moment, whereas I would be interested in participating if you should do this a little later on.

Secondly, the preview of my dressing room, closet photos are in part, ready for viewing;,(on the above mentioned*, blogspspot.com, blog).., My offerings , which I plan to debut a little later on,just may correlate to some of the themes that you like..,

    Cheers from Silken Purse
