This week took off full force, past deadline I've been writing like crazy AND Greye started sailing camp. Which consumes my life. Some Mummy's are soccer Mom's...I'm a regatta mother--I live in yacht clubs for the next 8 weeks. To add to this club habit Husband also races our sailboat on the weekends so I'm not even a little kidding when I say I LIVE in yacht clubs. I know all of the staff by name and they know us too. It sounds way more glam that it actually is, by the end of the summer I do not shed a tear when they lower that flag to officially close for the season. I am super ambitious for the summer: I have set a few goals
Wear as much yellow and turquoise as possible.
Collect turquoise so above said goal can be accomplished
Continue to practice surfing (with hot instructor of course)
Move into beach house in summer so I can go home rather than hang out at yacht club
I'm sad today's news of my blond mink being beyond repair has put me in a funk and will be a major set back for above goals. Please pray for my coat! What are your summer goals?

Wow, it does sound exciting! I always thought I'd be a sailing girl at some point, until I found out at 26 that I'm more of a land gal, having gotten sea sick! ICK!
ReplyDeleteSummer goals are to read all the books I have lined up, get a proper tan, get my recipes organization project finished and see as many movies as humanly possible!
coming from the east coast - i empathise in all areas. let's take a moment for your cherished coat. let's hope that you find a suitable replacement before winter sets in.

Love turquoise!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a summer party in a few weeks and hope to make it so successful it becomes an annual thing! That is my only goal other than to collect more Lilly!
A moment of silence for your beloved coat. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSounds exciting. My own week took off at supersonic speed and shows no sign of cooling off. When will I get a holiday ??
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for your coat!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :)
Lots and lots of beach time, with a little exercise in there too - I guess we can say that's a goal. Actually, just finding time to relax should be my goal. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck moving in to the beach house!
MoMo always said that if the CC rented rooms for the summer, she'd be the first to sign up since we basically lived there for swim team, tennis and golf lessons.
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the goals. yellow will be the color of summer 2010. please think magic sparklies for me on Sat, I take the GMAT.

Sounds like a great summer. You look gorgeous in yellow and I loved you in the yellow Lilly dress. xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood luck on finishing up your writing! Sounds like summer is in full swing for you! Have a great day beautiful! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE turquoise!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your summer activities! :)
I'm blessed, because I live in the southwest and turquoise is all over the place here. Over the years I've built up quite a collection of amazing pieces. On the flip side though, is I'm 10 HOURS by car to the nearest Lilly Pulitzer via shop. :( My one goal this summer is to take more golf lessons at our club so that my game is at least passable. That, and drink 64 oz. of water daily. So sorry about your coat.
ReplyDeleteLove the turquoise and yellow combo. Wish I could wear yellow, but it completely washes me out. I can wear turquoise and absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteMy summer goals: Enjoy my kiddos, read a few good books and lots of magazines, spend lots of time by the pool, and make the most of my time at the beach.
Goals:
ReplyDeleteget pedicures every week
not yell at my children
finish the needlepoint belt I'm working on for Mike
smile
I adore turquoise and yellow together! This summer I'm trying to re-envision my jewelry line and develop a website and get through the piles and piles of books I keep buying!
ReplyDeleteI love turquoise! Such a fun goal! I want to play more golf this summer! And, yes this week has been very crazy! Hope its been fun and you're enjoying your time at the Yacht club!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Blonde mink is in critical condition! Horrible! I want to live at the club with you and drink my iced cold Pinot Grigio! So proud we have reached our deadline!!!!! Summer goal? Hollywood domination!
ReplyDeleteHowever did blond mind get in such a condition? I have one that belonged to my husband's grandmother. The furrier did not want to reline it due to age (50+ years); I reasoned that I really couldn't hurt it. I carefully removed the old lining (and underlining) and used those pieces to make a pattern for a new lining. I noted how those pieces had originally been assembled. Then I purchased beautiful silk suitable for lining from Mood in NYC. I machine assembled the pieces and then I sewed them to the fur skins by hand - slowly and carefully with silk thread which is very durable. When I wear the coat I always get compliments. It looks like new!
ReplyDeletePantone did name turquoise the color of 2010! You made me kind of sad that I'm landlocked, but I'm only a few weeks away from my cruise.
ReplyDeleteSummer goals...stay comfortable, move, get nursery ready...
ReplyDeleteIf the coat is indeed beyond repair, might I suggest having other items made from the fur...ear muffs, lining for something else, trim on some boots or another jacket?
ReplyDeleteOh, first of all...prayers for your precious coat!!! Goals, well mine aren't near as posh as yours! ~Keep the weeds in the garden from overtaking the entire yard ~Keep exercising outdoors ~Eat out every night so I don't have to cook! Very boring compared to you social girl!!!
ReplyDeleteConsider your coat prayed for honey!! We've all been there.
ReplyDeleteOh no, that stinks about your mink. XOXO
ReplyDeleteSummer goals here:
Avoid oil
Suntan as often as possible (hard without going to the beach b/c of the oil - ugh!)
Lose a few pounds while still enjoying adult beverages!
Simple huh?
Have fun sailing!
you are so shallow it makes me sick!!
ReplyDeleteI think being a regatta mother is way cooler than a soccer mom! I'm a little jealous as I've never even been on a sail boat or in a yacht club.
ReplyDeleteI could be mistaken but I thikn another male has made an entrance. I say entrance when I have probably just not paid good enough attention. Good day Mr. Sporting Life.
ReplyDeleteAs to summer goals I hope to not have my kayak rammed by a yacht, smell both sage brush and salt water, and indulge my two year old when she runs into my office holding her bathing suit yelling, "baby soop, want wear baby soop!"
