PURSES

Hello All!

I have the cutest Lilly Pulitzer straw bag that is perfect for summer, since it has to go to the beach at least once a week. Of course I adore Lilly Pulitzer and was thrilled to pick this up for a fraction of the price as it was majorly marked down last fall at The Pink Crab. It has a pretty, preppy floral lining that covers the bag (when the beach is breezy)--even though it does seem to end up with quite a bit of sand in it. BUT, I can never find anything in it. What are your "can't find anything," in my bag solutions?
Also, I'm in the dull drums of summer when I've worn all of my cotton shift dresses a 100 times. Do you know any great etsy shops that make affordable dresses for women? Let me know!

  2. If I'm dealing with a tote or lg bag, I usually get a few cute smaller zip up bags (cosmetic bags are great for this especially since they are leak proof!) and just sort and organize stuff that way! One little bag has sunscreen, lotion, eye drops, etc. Another might have a pen, post its, stamps...(I know...I'm super anal retentive! lol!)

I'm tired of summer apparel now myself! I just want to get to wearing fall clothing! (except that here in AZ that doesn't come around until late January!)

    Love that LP bag!!

  4. I have a Lesportsac makeup bag and a Longchamp one. Depending on the size of the bag I'm carrying, I always have one of those on me. Inside, I keep lotion, lip balm, a pen, extra hair ties, rewetting drops, etc. Then in my purse I keep my wallet, a Longchamp coin purse that I use for all of my Euro change, my day planner, hair brush, and keys.

  5. Gorgeous bag! I always have multiple smaller make up bags in a larger tote bag because I can never find anything. My friend once saw some purse organizer on QVC; I'll ask her which one it was, because she really seemed to like it. xoxo

  7. Adorable tote, Beth! I just try to utilize all the compartments in my bag, and it works pretty well.

  8. adorable bag! To keep things organized in a large bag without many inside pockets - I have used clear zippered soft plastic cases; I have also used small make-up bags (the kind you get from costmetic companies - gift with purchase) - in a pinch I have also used clear ziploc bags -not as stylish , but I was able to locate items easily. Good luck..HHL

  9. Very cute. Try using bright makeup bags...that way you can see them easier! xx

  10. I love the bag! I usually use those small make-up bags that you get with free gifts at the make-up counters (like Estee Lauder and Clinique) and organize my things in there. Like I'll use one for make-up, one for a brush and hair ties, etc.

I know what you mean about the dresses - I'm getting tired of wearing the same ones, too.

  11. Oh baby, I see your sufferin' from the end of season doldrums. You always look so very gosh darn cute! Me??? Well I run around the Ponderosa in tees and biker shorts, pony tail and don't forget my Croc flippies. Now, that's a real fashion statement ya'll. The cows don't seem to mind! Heehehehe!!!

Have a greatly blessed day sweetie!!!

  14. Ooh, what a gorgeous bag. I wish I lived close enough to beach to make it a regular haunt!

  15. Like some other posters, I too use a collection of smaller makeup/travel bags to help me separate my things. Plus it is a way to use all of the prints that I love together because sometimes it is just too hard to choose!

  16. Yep, I do the same thing. I use makeup or travel bags inside my large tote for small items like lip gloss, phone, keys, etc. Then, for the beach, I keep my towel, water bottle, magazines and books in the large section.

I hope you are having a great week so far!

  21. Hi Beth, I got 2 Lilly shifts at People to People in Stone Harbor last night...The lady said their "Sale" starts on Aug 27th.

I have not been to Macy's in a while, but over the yrs I have found cute things there!

  24. Yes I have that same exact problem. Then the bag becomes so heavy I can't hardly carry it. I'm going to take the advice of the others and buy little compartmentalized bags.

  29. What a darlin' summer tote Beth! I usually have 2 or 3 small closed cosmetic pouches inside my purse...for all the loose stuff!

  30. Apparently I haven't been out enough this summer. I'm not sick of a single thing I own. It's all hubby's fault because her never wants to go out & when we do, he wants to leave as soon as he's had enough of... whatever. I always want to stay until the cows come home... which is probably why we never go out.

Cute beach bag! I have a big straw bag that I bought in Galveston (pre-Hurricane Ike) that I take swimming every day but it's not Lilly or any other designer. I think it's Eau de Knock Off.
