Socialite Saturday!
I love clothes, accessories and fashion. I also love a good bargain and refuse to pay a lot for certain items. One of them is sunglasses. Probably because the minute I get an expensive pair I lose them.
These were $9.99 from a local surf shop. What do you refuse to pay a lot for?

I'm completely with you on that; I always lose mine, so I get them for like $4 at Forever 21. Yours are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI have three expensive pairs of sunglasses that I'm forever afraid I'm going to ruin or lose, so I always make sure I have a cheaper pair for riding/horse shows and school.
ReplyDeleteI won't pay for t-shirts any more. It's kind of sad that I used to pay a lot, but I pretty much live in them to ride and study (aka my entire life). I've developed a love of stealing adorable pocket tees from J. Crew from the early 90s from my mom's closet and snagging tees from Lands End Canvas for $8 :)
Those are so cute! My wife works in retail and her store had a bunch of off season stuff on major clearance. I constantly lose or break my sunglasses, so she surprised me 3 pairs that were 10 cents each.
ReplyDeleteI also refuse to pay a lot for shoes, not because I don't love designer shoes (I do), but I have wide feet and honestly Payless brands just fit better.
I love those!

ReplyDeleteI've been MIA spending time with my Daddy who just lost his three decade battle with Leukemia Wed. evening. He now no longer has to endure any pain and suffering. For that I am very thankful for.

ReplyDeleteI'll pretty much pay a lot or a little for most anything... I just get what I like and/or can afford... I have pricey and bargain basement sunnies and I wear them all!!! Yours are adorbs!

ReplyDeleteI shop everywhere from thrift shops to Bergdorf Goodman...I adore vintage & re-using whatever I can because thats the stuff that is priceless in my opinion. .....I'm always getting amazing deals at tjmaxx too its my hangout.

ReplyDeleteUmbrellas & sunglasses are two things I refuse to spend much money on because I lose them constantly. Your sunglasses are darling! I have found very preppy tortoiseshell ones at Target from between $10 - $17. I swear, they look just like ones I see in Vogue for $350.
Oh honey,,,NEVER skimp on sunglasses...the cheap ones open your pupil but do not have the good UV protection...so actually let in MORE harmful rays....ask your Husband....

So cute! I just "lost" a really expensive pair, thank goodness the spa called and said they were there! I now keep a cheaper pair in the car! Those are great!

ReplyDeleteI don't buy expensive pens because they always get lost. And I don't pay more than $50 for gloves. My hubby bought a pair of pricey Hermès gloves as a gift from the kids and I made him take them back. With gloves I always lose one and just as I get rid of the onesie I find the lost glove. Never. Fails.

ReplyDeleteI refuse to pay a lot of money for simple t-shirts. I go through them quickly since I work with kids and since we all know educators aren't making the big bucks you have to stretch a dollar. :-)
ah well I think I might have to disagree.... I pay a fortune for mine because I totally want to protect my eyes. And generally, the more I pay for something, the more I take care of it... so it kind of works out ok for me. But I do see where you are coming from. I hate spending a lot on stuff that doesn't last.

ReplyDeleteHmm...what do I refuse to pay a lot of $$$ for? Hmm...I'm thinking, I'm thinking. I guess regular clothes. I'm a clotheshorse so I try to buy everything on sale. And cars. I pay cash for cars. It has to be nice but something I can afford. I refuse to finance something that I lose money on as soon as I put the key in the ignition.
ReplyDeleteGee, I am with you on that philosophy!! I have such a mixture of "things". Clothes that cost a lot which then I hate to part with for decaders longer than I should have them. Bargains that I get because I see a designer look alike and feel lucky to have found. Then again, sunglasses that are a fortune that my daughter talked me into...but my favs are the $9.99 ones from TJ Maxx! Yours are too cute!!

ReplyDeleteI refuse to pay a lot of money for sunglasses, too, actually...I tend to either break or lose them.
I am the same way with glasses now. Before I had a pair of Chanel sunglasses, but now with GG, she's always ripping them from my head sending them crashing to the floor. No way to treat expensive glasses so it's cheapies for me...for now anyway!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE those glasses!! I'm exactly the same way with sunglasses, and my mother bought me a Chanel pair for Christmas. And then...Louis the Westie ate them :( And I almost died. Well, not really...but I'm back to wearing cheap sunglasses. Sigh.
