Happy Birthday Lilly Pulitzer. I worship you.
I'm looking for some feed back/recommendations....
Black leggings? What is your favorite brand?
Has anyone tried Tracy Anderson's method?
Has anyone tried NuFace? It is electrical stimulation that helps firm skin and reduce fine lines.
Cooked Quinoa? Not sure what to add to it to make it taste great.
Sorry for all the random questions. This is what has been heavily weighing on my mind this week. Well that and Christmas shopping. Oh and the reason my pictures are sometimes so small is my new iPhone--that is as big as they'll get. Sorry they do stink, but I don't walk around with a camera. Off for a much needed facial. Hope everyone has a great day!

Mr. Z and I love Quinoa...I like to add roasted/sauteed peppers, onions or use in place of rice for a stir-fry.
ReplyDeleteCannot answer any of that but can you believe Lilly and husband have the SAME BIRTHDAY!!!!???
ReplyDeleteI do not have answers to your questions ..:( .. enjoy your facial... xo HHL
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your book, and hope it gets turned into a movie ASAP! ( Even the typo's were charming!)
ReplyDeleteThe only tip I have to make quinoa as healthful and tasty as possible is: saute ground turkey in a bit of olive oil, then add the quinoa ( 1 cup)and ( 2 cups)chicken broth, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.

I can't imagine anything that would make quinoa taste good!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmerican Apparel (as much as I dislike to admit it) have the No. 1 leggings in the universe. This has been certifed by at least 10 of my friends. Happy birthday Lilly!!!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteNu Face I believe is probably similar to Facemaster-which also uses electrical current but isn't technically handheld. Both are FDA approved. Facemaster works-if you use it daily. If you don't your firmness reverts back. It's like if you quit lifting weights the muscles go back. Still-Facemaster works, especially if I want to look extra good for a night out.
ReplyDeleteCook your quinoa in 1/2 water, 1/2 chicken broth; when it's done, stir in some toasted pine nuts, golden raisins or currants, chopped parsley, and lemon zest - treat it like couscous. Delish side dish. I've also had it in place of oatmeal - a drizzle of cream, some maple syrup, and raisins.

I love my Victoria Secret black leggings. They're so comfy! They come in long or short, and are only $30 for two pairs! Hope you enjoy your facial!
ReplyDeleteI got some leggings at Target and have no complaints. But I imagine it would depend on how you plan to wear them--these are fine under a skirt or dress or even a long sweater.
ReplyDeletelands end "canvas" brand has the BEST black leggings! happy birthday, lilly!
ReplyDeleteLove quinoa. It's good with salsa. Sometimes I serve it instead of rice with dishes such as Chinese lemon or orange chicken. Google quinoa and blueberries for recipes. So yummy for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday LP!
xoxo
I like the recommendations of using quinoa like a stir fry. I've made it a few times but am always looking for ideas, too. I've added black beans and avocado to it before and usually put lemon & olive oil on it.
ReplyDeleteI despise American Apparel but they do have good leggings I have been told. By several friends, natch. I norm go to the local ski shop and buy whatever they rec'd for leggings to avoid the AA trend... which means I can be uber prep and not supporting creepy stores like AA. ha!
ReplyDeleteXOXO

I'm a fan of the whitehouse black market leggings. They are thick and hold their shape really well and don't fade.
ReplyDeleteI make tabuleh with quinoa! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI can't get into Quinoa, but still trying!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Lilly, a wonderful lady who has brought so much color to our lives!
I did a Lilly post too (with a giveaway): http://re-lilly.blogspot.com/
I haven't tried the TA method...but after seeing Gwyneth the last couple of years, I totally want to!
ReplyDeleteI've not even heard of quinoa but love experimenting so may look it up. As for the rest, hmmm, feeling uninspired right now, but always enjoy reading your fun blog for a lift!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, happy birthday to Lilly! A great stockings brand is Wolford. :)
ReplyDeleteI find that Danskin leggins are great to chase wild~eyed cattle in. Just sayin.......
ReplyDeleteNever heard of quinoa....must not be a hillbilly dish! Heeehehehe.
God bless ya and happy birthday to Lilly! :o)
Actually Gap has some great leggings.
ReplyDeleteOh - facials are my fav and a must!
Cook quinoa like you would cook oatmeal. Add blueberries - frozen work too.
ReplyDeleteBlack leggings - Lululemon.
Oh, dear, haven't tried any of these things. And my leggings are from Eddie Bauer.
ReplyDeleteI have an iphone as well and post large pics on my blog from it. Just e-ail to yourself, then save it on desktop. Leggings dont need to cost a lot, I got mine at Target!
ReplyDeleteLOVE quinoa. Veggies work brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteI have leggings from Helmut Lang that are thick and look great on their own, and 3 Dots ones that are a little thinner and great under a dress or a tunic.
ReplyDeleteI HAD the Tracy Anderson method dvd and found it to be kind of wacky - it's like Madonna dance moves/pilates and you feel like an idiot doing it -- but it TOTALLY works. Unfortunately it was mistakenly put into the Aristocats dvd box which then was lost in te morass that is the playroom. Thinking about ordering a new copy as I've seached everywhere to no avail.
No comment on the quinoa but I bet Tracy Anderson eats it (when she eats that is.)
I have tried Tracy Anderson (studio is right by my house) and her dvd's.... very intense and tricky to learn the routines sometimes. I love Wolford leggings and Hue leggings!
ReplyDeletei fix my quinoa as i would oatmeal- with a little bit of milk and pure maple syrup and i love it!
ReplyDeleteI need tree "trunk-ings", not leggings! LOL
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of corduroy leggings by Hue (Macy's or Dillard's). They're great with riding boots.
ReplyDeleteBest leggings: American Apparel. Hands down. They outlast every other brand I've owned, and are super super comfy.
ReplyDeleteQuinoa:
with zucchini & avocado: http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/quinoa-and-grilled-zucchini-recipe.html
