Socialite Saturday

Happy Easter! I hope this blog finds everyone enjoying the weekend.  Have you seen the story about the women who claims being beautiful  is a curse? Click Here

She says (and I'm paraphrasing) that people are either gifting her free things or are mean to her out of jealousy. I don't have a strong opinion about her article. What killed me about the story was how people reacted to her personally. People took to the internet and called her ugly etc. Why? She was writing a story about the affects of looks/aesthetics. Why did people have to attack her personally? I just found it so mean spirited. Did you see this story? What did you think?

  1. Heeheehehe!!! Sorry, it all reminded me of that old commercial, "don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful!"

It's sad to think that some people are just mean. Guess there are mean girls at any age!

    Too stinkin' bad.

God bless ya sweetie and have an amazin' weekend!!! :o)

  3. What I got from the reaction to the article was that people were pointing out that she isn't scorned by women for her 'beauty' as she claims. Instead she is disliked for being delusional. She held her appearance up for all of us to examine (and, yes, judge!) when she claimed she faced adversity for being so gorgeous. It would be extremely naive to imagine that we would all pity her for the amount of jealousy that she claims is directed her way by her own sex especially when her appearance seems average at best.

  4. I think I saw it on one of the news shows on TV. I honestly expected her to be drop dead gorgeous so I was shocked that she's just average. Frankly, I know dozens of drop dead gorgeous women who have never ever had this problem because they are simply polite & kind to everyone.

I actually think someone was in need of some attention, LOL! I too, think the woman is delusional.

  5. I too think was average looking, but that is besides the point. I think people reacted this way because the readers felt she was putting herself above them. When someone writes " so and so hates me because I am so beautiful" the reader would assume she is saying she is more beautiful than everyone that hates her. I think the same thing would have happened if she wrote "everyone hates me because I am so brilliant", people would have said you aren't that smart. It is always best to be humbly grateful for what you have! That said, if it really bothered people they should have ignored her! She is now thinking, I am SO beautiful and thats why they are attacking me...

  6. It's rather conceited to write an article complaining about being beautiful as if its some hardship to endure. I don't think she's particularly beautiful but pretty average. People are probably more inclined to hate her for her arrogance and not her looks. Anyone who writes something like this about themselves has issues and isn't going to be well liked.

  8. I think that's a little egotistical on her part, but people definitely didn't need to go and attack her. Have a wonderful Easter, Beth!

  9. It's too bad that people are mean...but some times one has to "think about what comes out of one's mouth"...my momma used to say.

  10. Touchy article, but in the end, I get so frustrated when people speak before they really think! I know we are all subject to our own opinions, but what ever happened to being cordial?
