WASP Wednesday

Blends....How is it July 1st this weekend? I'm freaking out!

After our trip to Lake Winnipesaukee I've been very reflective on my camp experience. Also the Lake is a super special place as I lived there for several weeks (after I returned from camp) the summer before I entered 8th grade. When I was younger I went to Camp Oneka (the very same camp Gace Kelly attended), it's where I learned to water ski (and where I had my first kiss--at our only visit to a boys camp for a dance). It was an all girls camp and when I went we wore a uniform, not sure if they require that anymore.  I still love to water ski!

Do you?

  1. Love Lake Winnipesaukee! It was the last place my entire family vacationed before my grandparents passed... As for water skiing...... don't like it. Give me snow skiing any day.

  2. I used to love to water ski, then I had a really bad wipeout and broke two ribs... no more skiing for me!
I can't believe that it's almost July too! Where did June go?

  3. I haven't water skied since we sold our lake house 10 yrs ago, so I'm pretty sure I couldn't get up now. Besides, I could never learn to slalom, which my family teased me about unmercifully. Even worse, I looked like I was snow skiing which cracked everyone up. "Bend Ze Knees"!

I bawled like a baby the first time each child went to camp for the first time. Once I realized that I had TIME on my hands, I didn't shed another tear... What I'd give to have those days back again.

  8. Beth - What a BLAST!! Glad you were able to go this time sans uniform! I have not been water skiing since I was a kid - I haven't worn a bathing suit in 20 years ...
Happy to hear you had a wonderful time!
