Happy RNC! Did you all enjoy Ann?
I still have a lot of maternal instinct left but a house full of independent Frat boys. So instead of having another baby maybe I'll get a puppy. I've always been fine without a pet. We had a beautiful Chesapeake Bay Retriever but she passed away at a very young age and then I had the boys. At my ML house I loved watching the ducks and birds play in my back yard. The Winfield also has a few fish. But my heart aches to snuggle and love something that will allow me to kiss it in public.
I need your help and advice finding a good breeder for
A Scottish Terrior.

Oh Beth....please adopt from a rescue. You will be glad you did. Main Line Animal Rescue is a great group.
ReplyDeleteYour dog will be the best kept dog on the block!!

If you want a specific breed, please go to a rescue for that breed. There are so many dogs that need good homes.
ReplyDeleteNo RNC for me. Wanted to keep the good dinner I had down.
I think I read somewhere that Mary Engelbreit has Scottish Terriers. And if I know of anyone who can find a way to chat with her...it's you! Perhaps a copy of your book? Stop by my site...giving away a Shopbop $100 gift card!
ReplyDeleteHappy RNC to you too! I thought Ann was lovely! She did a wonderful job and looked timeless. Loved her golf cuff bracelet too. I loved seeing the affect she had on Gov. Romney - he looked almost misty eyed when she talked. Love love love them!
ReplyDeleteHello my friend.. I've been MIA most of August - enjoying time at our country home. A furbaby is a perfect addition to any family... our Dolce and Gabbana (both Yorkies) and Stella (a yellow lab) are our babies and the love and entertainment they give is priceless! Good luck ..xo HHL
ReplyDeleteConsider going to the Scottish Terrier Club of America. (http://www.stca.biz/) There you can find out information about the breed. They are, for example, a strong-willed and independent breed that can be difficult to train; this is not for lack of intelligence but because they have their own opinion about how things should be done. While a dog can be found as a rescue nothing can beat the education and support you can gain from going to a responsible breeder that can tell you much about the health, diet, exercise and grooming concerns of their specific breed. For example, an electric fence is not recommended for a Scottie because they would rather take the pain to get at a squirrel or rabbit. If after you have done research and talked to breeders in the New Jersey area (and Frank and Susan Finn of Destiny Kennels - AKC Breeder of Merit - would be a good start at 856-227-4425), then at least you would adopt a rescue with more knowledge if that is the route in which you want to go.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I have a Bernese (best dog in the world in my opinion! haha!).
ReplyDeleteI found our breeder on breeders.net. Turns out she was in Conshohocken! So close.
Some peope are very passionate about rescues and I totally agree. Sterling (my pup) needed a home just as much as a rescue as well. I love my breeder and still send pictures and call her a few times a year to catch up with her. She was an amazing resource to me...she has so much knowledge about the breed and the "typical" behavior, problems, questions, etc.
I found that to be an amazing thing.
I loved being there with Sterling when she was only 2 weeks old...I've been her one and only mommy...
so blessed!
Another site to try is www.petfinder.com they list dogs from both local shelters & specific breed rescues; makes it easy if you are looking for a certain age or breed. Good luck with your search!!!
ReplyDeleteAww Such a cute pup!!! I can't wait to see the one you get. There is truly nothing better than having a furbaby to cuddle with :)

Please rescue a scottie! I have 4 rescue dogs (crazy dog lady here) and they are so thankful to have homes. You can just tell. And Ann is fabulous she looks AMAZING to be 63!
ReplyDeleteI think Paul Ryan is hot.
ReplyDeleteLoved the RNC. Found Ann to be a wonderful speaker. We need to clean out the White House and cut spending.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the dog...we have a pet pig and love him. Great helper around the house...all our food scraps are given to him...think about it. Just throw a Lilly dress on it, you'll love it.
Hi, Beth ! I became a dog owner for the first time at the grand old age of ... anyway, recently ! I have never ever regretted it. I love your "allow me to kiss it in public"... Exactly !!xx
ReplyDeleteCompared to Michelle, Ann looked a little frumpy imo.
