Preppy Challenge

I Gave Birth to a Preppy--from TOPH

"My tiny offspring immediately began to assert herself in very distinctive ways. She flatly refused papmers and demanded 100% cotton daipers clasped with a gold kilt pin.  She eschewed pacifiers and preferred to teethe on an add a bead necklace.  She didn't play house, she played 'cottage.' Instead of playing 'store,' she favored 'investment banking.' While the other little girls lavished attention on their dolls, mine pretended to find a baby sitter for hers.  The other children were happy with their red wagons; mine would accept nothing but a woody. When she learned that she would  receive a barbie doll, she marched to Tiffany's to register Barbie's silver pattern."

Ah, yes raising preppy boys. While my sons wore pampers they both teethed on silver rattles from Tiffany & Co.  They also have a woody wagon and although they've never played 'investment banking' they love money and enjoy golf, tennis, skiing, sailing, shooting and croquet!  They wear their monogram sweaters from Emily Lacey without any complaint and most of their shorts/pants are adorned with annimals (crabs, nautical flags, horses etc).  Check, check!

Preppy peace out!!

  1. Each of my boys had a silver cup and rattle :) While youngest loves golf, oldest son is more concerned about starting a 401K at 17yrs. Funny, he's worried about retirement and I'm worried about paying for an education to get him a job in the first place LOL!

  8. The picture is precious! I must add...I teethed on Mother's Add-A-Bead necklace too. She recently passed it on to me, and the gold balls have little dents from little bicuspids.
