1, 2, 3, 4 I declare a preppy war!

My adorable sister in law lives in Germany. I usually wait till she lives at the shore for the summer to gift her for Christmas. This year she decided to get me truly adorable luggage tag and monogrammed Christmas ornament from girly twirly. Much like a thumby war I've declared preppy war on her. Two most certainly can play at this game! And you know I'll win!

Look what I just scored from 2preppygirls.com I love it!
I would never get a tattoo because I'm deathly afraid of needles but if I did it would be my monogram.

Speaking of needles I got my first vitamin shot yesterday. Waiting to see if that was worth the panic attack/sweaty palms. Friday I'm having 2 things removed from my leg. So this is a traumatic week for the needle scardy cat over here. I'm so afraid of needles it used to take several nurses to hold me down for a shot. Mommie was convinced I'd never actually go abroad to Zimbabwe because of all the immunizations I would have to get. Well! I showed her, I got them all-I just cried the whole time. So there!

What do you love to monogram? What would you never monogram? Do you want to declare a preppy war?

xoxo

  1. My mother has her initials actually painted on to the car just where the racing stripe is... in gold... on a black car. Hmmm, I really need mine on my car...

You need to start a Prep My Car post (in lieu of pimp my car!) would be loads of fun... for example wicker basket for water bottles in trunk, tartan blanket in back seat or trunk (especially us Northerners), initials on car, a Burberry umbrella in the trunk in case you get caught in the rain...

I would monogram almost anything... except myself!

Totally would love a preppy war!!!

  2. oh I totally forgot to wish you luck on your leg thingy.... I had a similar thing done in college. It was fine, really. Just be sure to load up on Motrin before-hand and a martini after ;)

  3. Glad you like! Except for the monogram, those items are in my car! Not sure my car itself is Preppy... I think it is more "Jappy" in the Jewish American -- Oh!!!! THAT's what the other P is for in Jappy!!!! Jewish American Preppy Princess!!!! (How's that for an AHA Moment!) Anyhow... was just sharin'... as for the wreath darling husband will not let me as it potentially could ruin my "grill." Have a pretty red tartan ribbon I could so something with tho!

Remember, btw, t'was I who suggested the Queen have her quotable Mondays... I really am Genius (and shallow) aren't I? Ahhh, life IS good!

  4. I want to monogram my car! Too bad the hubs and I share one car. He probably wouldn't let me do it. I'll have to look for some other preppy thing to do with the car that my heavy metal rockstar husband would like! If I can find something preppy that my hubs like I will most definitely declare a preppy war!

  5. Wish my sister would get in a preppy war! Sadly she is all about the bohemian and marc jacobs look. YUCK. I love to monogram. Notepads, starionary (my company sells it all so I am spoiled!). The other day I was in the mongram store in beverly hills getting our xmas stockings monogrammed and I asked:" Is this heaven?"

  6. Good luck on your leg-thingy. I had one this past Monday. After a few hours any discomfort will pass. :) My son came home from college to get his back-thingy done. I nearly passed out when I saw his 1.5 inch stitch line! Gotta love that Northern European heritage!

    You'll do great! :) xoxo

  7. I've found that a healthy amount of wine of tequila helps calm the nerves before a needle episode, although the DR's office might not like that too much!

Preppy War is on, draw up the battle lines!

  8. LOVE the monogram! Good luck with your leg! Sending lots of happy thoughts! :) Hugs!!! CZ

  9. Love the monogrammed car! I can't monogram towels or blankets, etc. I hate the scratchy feeling of the embroidery on my skin! Weird, right? Good luck with your leg!

  10. I would monogram just about anything, I'll pass on the tattoo as well. I have never seen the car monogram before, how cute! Good luck on your procedure.

  11. That is so funny that you say you would get a tattoo of your monogram if you ever got a tattoo!! I have told my mom like 100 times that if I was in to tattoos I would do it!! I'm pretty much obsessed with monograms and I think that just about anything can be monogrammed if done tatsefully. And yes, when I get a new car I plan on monogramming the headrests. Yep! I said it!

    XOXO

  12. I bought the cell phone monogram. Loved it so much I bought one for each of my sisters, and my husband! I want to put one on my car too, but I'm waiting until it warms up here!

  13. I would definitely monogram it, but first I need to buy it LOL!

And big hugs on your rough week. Hope everything turns out just fine. Keep hanging in there.

  14. Made my mom get one of those car decals and sent them on to my cousins!
If I had a car, I would so have one...
I wear a gold monogrammed necklace like everyday. And a pillow on my bed is always monogrammed as well!

  15. I love the car decal! It's perfect! Good luck on Friday.

  16. If you can stick it on or sew it on we probably have it monogramed around the house. As a matter of fact I think my wife only married me so her initials could stay the same.

  17. That's really cool (in a preppy sort of way ;-))! Love it!

  18. So so cute!! I want one for my car! I would say that I am into monogrammed linens the most. Our sheets, guest bathroom towels, the basics.

  19. Focus on the preppy war and not the other things. Good luck winning. :]

  20. Hey scardy sister we should form a club! Once as a child it took three nursed and my mom to hold me down for a vaccination and the darn Dr. missed and had to reload. Heeeheehe! My bad.

Have a wonderful day, I'm off to monogram my toenails.

  21. I would love to have a pair of those cute monogrammed clogs! You can get them at the Pink Monogram OR 2 Preppy Girls.

I am probably the ONLY person commenting that would NOT have a monogram put on my car, and I promise IT'S A GOOD REASON: Car monograms have been down here for a while, and now everyone has them. (And when I mean EVERYONE, I mean not the usual cute, preppy girls who would have monogrammed things.) You now see them on Mustangs and Dodge Dakota trucks. Very sad...

On another note, hope all goes well at the doctor. Be sure to have a fun beverage when you get home. Be thinking of you, cute, preppy girl!

  22. I would monogram everything. I just dropped three things off today. I used to have a car monogram and then everyone here got one so I took it off!

  23. Good luck with the needles!

And I love the monogram thing. I would never Monogram my car, unfourtunetly--my grandfather bought me a Mustang awhile back, and though I love it, it's not exactly the most girly thing on the market.

  24. I LOVE love monogrammed notecards - kinda obsessed! And, I love our monogrammed bath towels :) I'm not a fan when someone wears too much monogram at one time. For example, I once saw a girl wear monogrammed earrings, a monogrammed cardigan, while toting a monogrammed purse, and sporting monogrammed clogs. Oh...one more thing: she had on a monogrammed necklace. Don't you think that a bit too much? Although, whatever "floats your boat," right?

Quick question: where can I purchase your book?
    Cheers!

  27. I love monograms..especially on cocktail napkins.
It would be fun to monogram my Mercedes but I probably will not get around to it. I just bought your book from Amazon, looking forward to reading it..probably will save for one of our beach vacations this year sometime.
    xoxo
Good luck with your tests this week, hope all goes well.

  28. I just love those stickers! Thanks for coming by and I wish you luck on the vintage keys. If I were to pick it would be hard to pick just one. I wish I could paint faster and give everyone a sign for Christmas. Merry Christmas~

  29. first- how glamourous and worldly to have a bro and sis in law that love abroad!

second- we are cut from the same cloth- if I ever got a tattoo, it'd be of my monogram. but I think I'd want to hold out for my married one. my sis has a small one on her foot of the first initial of my dad, mom, me and her. it's grown on me.

  30. Beth, you are so funny, 1,2,3,4, lets declare a preppy war...I use to say stuff like that when I was just a little preppy girl!!!
I would love to monogram my pillow covers!

  31. You are too funny! I hope things go well Friday, you know we'll be thinking of you.

Sending a hug and a smile,

  32. So funny. My brother-in-law and I have a competition every year when we buy our Christmas presents for my Dad. Every year the looser says, 'it's on' for next year. I usually win but this year I'm stuck.....

  33. I do love my monogram, but I don't think I would ever get it tattooed...the sticker is cute!

  34. I love your monogram, it's fabulous! I monogram everything....my pillows, my table runner, my bathroom towells, everything! I probably wouldn't ever monogram myself though, since initials sometimes change. Plus, I'm scared of needles too!!

  35. The monogram is too cool. I'd never monogram my license plates because I think vanity plates are kind of dumb. I WOULD monogram my front door (check) and my car, my husband's ties, luggage, serving platters and stationery.

  36. I like monograms, especially nice canvas totes with a bright monogram.

  37. I love monograms.
I got a pink one for my car for my birthday this year, and then my green Nalgene has a pink one on it as well. I have it in the inside of a lot of my books as well, because I'm known as the Chick-Lit lending library at school and I like to make sure I get my books back ;) I'm going to do my Crackberry, calculator and laptop next I think.. And I love monogrammed stationary - I've started making my own actually.

  38. Okay the Prep My Car idea is fabulous. I have a red car.....what color monogram would you suggest? I would never monogram myself or my unmentionables. PJs yes, but never undies....it's just tacky. Sorry to those who have done so, no offense intended.

  39. Good luck with the upcoming surgery, I am sure it will be fine, quick and easy.
I monogram my tote bags, and have an initial flag for the front of the house. I would love to monogram my car, but that might be viewed as over the top.
    So what's this preppy war?

  40. That monogram is adorable! Good luck with facing needles - I have to bring someone with me when I get blood drawn in case I pass out (which has happened and is a bit awkward).

  41. I monogrammed my mudroom! (you may have seen my post)....love these new decals!

  42. Now seeing the monogram on your BRAND NEW car, I have to get mine. I promised DH I wouldn't put anything on my car for a year...I'm ordering one tonight. I LOVE the green on the black too. Since I had a business called "Monograms Gone Wild" I love everything monogrammed but my favorite are my monogrammed clogs.
Good luck with your leg! You will do great!
