Shoe? Jimmy Choo
I guess I should have saved these for the end of the week, hands down I find these to be the MOST comfortable pair of shoes. I could literally go jogging in them (not that I jog). I had an amazing facial today because tomorrow is my moment of pure fear-I've spoken in public before. But, usually with a glass of wine in hand and 10 other women. This is a whole new level, I have 0 idea what to expect and am quite confident I will stink. Wish me luck. What did everyone think of Laura Bush on Oprah yesterday? I cried, I love her and her daughters!

Glad the shoes are super comfy! I did not know Laura was on Oprah I may have to look for that on Oprah. Love your outfit! Good luck with the speaking thing!

ReplyDeleteBeth, You will kick ass in your speaking engagement. Remember to create the illusion of eye contact....look at the crowd and focus on someone's forehead....Do not "read" ...just speak. remember to pause at points...longer than you think you should...it will add emphasis and keep their attention. Avoid saying "um" at all costs...and just have fun with it. Nothing bad can happen and your listeners/audience want to like you and want to hear what you have to say...

ReplyDeleteWhen we were at FW we started chatting with this lovely woman from West Palm Beach. She told us that she couldn't walk in Loubies, but that she looooooved Jimmy Choos because they're so comfy! I think I would put up with some pain for Loubs though. AH ha ha
ReplyDeleteThe easiest way to survive public speaking is place a good friend in the back of the room and have them heckle you relentlessly. It will go horribly but the next time you speak publicly will be a breeze.
