I'm the first to admit when it comes to fashion, style and decorating I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm a master at copying a look from the runway, TV commercial, picture in magazine. But, a few years ago I learned one trick. Placing like things next to one another looks best. I apply that rule to anything I decorate, including myself. The way I dress, decorate etc is a reflection of not only my personality but my creativity. When I select an outfit I also design a jewelry concept to match, I approach my home and garden with a similar strategy. So when I look pulled together, I'm really just following that one simple concept.
star fishes were on my Miss Trish of Capri shoes, my ring and on my pearl bracelet. I also have starfish earrings.

Love the Juicy and the starfish sandals, ring, and bracelet! Great look! My style secrets....hmmm, I very matchy-matchy. EVERYTHING must be coordinated. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny, I wear those shoes with my Bucket O' Goodies Sherman Tunic.
ReplyDeleteLove those sandals with the jewelry - starfishes are one of my favs! I won Sweet Southern Prep's giveaway of your book, and I could not be more excited! Social Climbers has been on my summer read list for a while now...
ReplyDeleteLove all of the starfish accessories! Such great summery-style. Hope you're having a great Thursday!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous and I love how you have all the matching starfishes! Where did you get that bracelet? It's really cute...xoxo

Love the sandals and the dress! I know exactly what you mean about style! I usually just copy the Lilly catalog- you can't go wrong! Have a fabulous day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt works; you look great! I'm a fan of mixing complementary solids. It always seems to "work".
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes. And all the starfish. You must read my post today I think you'll get a kick out of it.
ReplyDeleteCute shoes- love the beach motiff.
ReplyDeleteLOve your ensemble...my style tricks are to feel comfortable in what I am wearing. I like to pair up patterns when they look good--but not over do it. ...like a florial with a stripe.
ReplyDeletealways good to have a central tenet to style, and apply that elsewhere (mostly what my entire career and new company is centered around!) I have quite a few tricks myself, but I agree, feeling good is always top of the list.
ReplyDelete~wearing white after labor day
Very beachy and fun. I love to feel comfortable in what I am wearing but its often not possible when its a formal function. So while my Spanx are riding up underneath my fab Calvin Klein dress I remind myself that I look fab and sometimes beauty does not = cozy. I agree coordinating your jewelry is a must! I always match my jewelry up the night before to coordinate with the outfit of the day :)
ReplyDeleteMy purse must match my outfit! I will not use a brown purse with a black outfit, etc....Unless I am using one of my LV's --- they go with everything....ha! ha!

ReplyDeleteadorable sandals. i love anything "beachy." i don't have any style secrets. i look at runway shows on tv and collections featured in magazines, and to celebs for inspiration. i combine trends with some of my old faves. thanks for sharing and take care.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just the angle at which you're standing, but how can anyone call that a "dress" and keep a straight face? It's barely long enough to qualify as a t-shirt!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any style secrets. But I love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteIs the bracelet from Fornash? I have one just like it and LOVE LOVE LOVE!

PS I left you an award on my blog!
p.s. :) I have decided to sign on as a follower but I am as out of place here as a tomatoe in a flower bed! Still...it's fun to look!
ReplyDeletep.p.s. or as wrong as an "e" on the end of tomato!! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of wearing things that don't necessarily "match" but "go" with each other. I especially love adding a color element to an outfit that will make it pop...Like wearing bright yellow shoes with a navy dress for instance.
ReplyDeleteDitto for me Kristin...altho some "pop" colors just don't look good on me. I usually thro in a colorful AM bracelet to add color on my most casual days!
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful, love the Juicy dress on you, nice legs, girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your style secret, no wonder you always look so "put together", truly a collars up preppy trait if ever there was one.
My style secret, for this jeans, crocs, and t-shirt wearing gal? Great posture and a smile.
Thank you, Beth.
You look fat in that dress. Maybe your husband can get you a discount on lipo.
