Happy Tuesday

I'm exhausted! The house is a mess and I'm leaving on Thursday for Lexington, Kentucky. 4th of July weekend was full of family fun with usually 2 events each day. When I park on the beach this is our set up:
We have our extra large beach bag from Lands End, Monogrammed chairs from Lands End too and in the center--a soft cooler from Pottery barn with my new favorite toy, speakers for my iPod.  Love having music on the beach. Yesterday was entirely too hot for sitting. We mostly stood in the water and I kept my hat on for shade. It is really humid here right now! Hope you all had a blast this weekend.

  2. Yep, the heat and humidity are a bit much to endure right now. Have fun in my old college town, Lexington! Be sure to have dinner at Jonathan's at the Gratz Park Inn - delicious!

  4. My SC beach set-up is now a chair that can sit in the water. That's the only way to survive when it's super hot. But, we will probably never do the beach again without the pop-up. It's the envy of the beach. 10 x 10 home base for coolers and such. AND I still get sun. I love it!

  7. I'm just loving your *beach scene*! When it's really hot I like to put ice cubes on my head, under my hat. It really works! Unfortunately, we've had nothing but rain for weeks now...

  11. And that beach shack in the background-I covet it each and every year. It sits vacant. If it were mine I'd be up there partying and grilling out! xoxo

I found a new fun thing...I relax in the pool in the lounge chair, reading a magazine and drinking iced tea and sangria (separately)...in about and hour and a half that's where I'll be! I hear there is a sea breeze in Ocean City today !! 95!

  18. LOVE to tote my monogrammed Lands End bag to the beach (and to the pool)... it holds absolutely everything! And I'm thrilled to hear you are heading south to our Bluegrass state; we live an hour north of Lexington, however that is where I grew up. Enjoy the rolling hills of the horse country, and make sure you pop into Bellini's (downtown) for some wine and food!

    Happy belated 4th!

  27. Beth, thanks so much for checkin' in. I've been sick with a debilitating case of shingles for over two months now. We had 49 on our guest list for our big Fourth of July bash here on the Ponderosa and really pushed myself to the max. So not good. Not the bash, it went of with a BANG..heeehehehe! Monday morn' Hubby counted eleven new blisters on my back. He said they lined up perfectly to form the Big Dipper....does that make me a star???? :o) Anyway, he's ordered me to do nothing 'till I heal up. Shhhhh, I was never here...don't tell.

God bless ya and have a glorious summer day!!!
