Hello and Happy 4th of July weekend!
About 3 things I know during the summer. The weeks are erratic with Greye's sailing schedule but come Friday my schedule is clear (which is the exact opposite during the school year).
Friday's we watch the Bay races at The Ocean City Yacht Club over drinks and dinner with friends.
Saturday we go out on our Boston Whaler. We either go to lunch or go water skiing with friends.
Sunday we go to the beach, again with friends.
I love living at the shore! But....What is to be done with Summer hair?
It's a MESS! Getting a blow out today.

I think you look fantastic!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou look great!
ReplyDeleteI have fine blonde hair so I know your pain! It is impossible in the summer!
you look like a rasta...love you
ReplyDeletehermes
What fun you're having! You're smart--a scarf covers all kinds of bad hair issues!
ReplyDeleteI'm am always so tempted to bring back scarves ala Jackie O in the 70's-you make it look great!
ReplyDeletelove the scarf! my go to is the messy, messy pony tail. and, of course, a great big bow!
ReplyDeleteScarf here daily as well! Gotta love beach and humidity :-)
ReplyDeleteAbout to try the Moroccan hair oil that I've been hearing so much about. It's supposed to be amazing for the humidity! I'll let you know. Didn't realize you had a sailor in the family. My husband grew up in Fort Myers, Fl and sailing. He even did an Olympic campaign several years ago. He's sailed a lot of different boats but the Finn was his latest. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeletesummer hair is a pain in my bum thats for sure! :) thank you! I have such amazing memories of the lake from when I was growing up, I dont think I could ever not spend summertimes there !! -- did you go to carthage by any chance?? I applied there and ended up deciding on staying in michigan but the campus itself just about sold me! :) :)
ReplyDeleteMoroccan Hair Oil is my hair's summer best friend...went to have my hair cut yesterday and had to be talked out of cutting it off...humidity is that cruel to my blonde fine hair...putting it up or in my fav Ponte Vedra hat for taking the boat out this weekend at the rivah....
ReplyDeleteWe have a Boston Whaler too - what fun! Oh the woes of summer hair... XO
ReplyDeleteMoroccan oil is FABULOUS - use it sparingly before a blow dry. Scarfs are good, too!
ReplyDeletePlease use a very good quality sunscreen. You can still get color and the vitamin D benefits while filtering out the harmful (premature aging and carcinogenic) effects. There are women at my club that look like alligators and I'm sure they think they look youthful and healthy even though their leathery, tan wrinkles say otherwise. You're too cute to let that happen!
My hair is SO not it's best during summer! Happy 4th...have fun! xx
ReplyDeleteLots of ponytails for me! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th to you too!
You look so fab, as usual!! I think I might steal that hair idea from you! xoxo!
ReplyDeleteugh! I know!! I hate getting it blown out because I feel like the wind always ruins it. But I don't like wearing it naturally either. So usually just down with a headband or up in a ponytail :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your hair in the photo shoot... but that's what stylists are for!
ReplyDeleteWe have spent quite a few days on the boat. There is nothing like the wind and water!
I end up wearing my hair up in a pony tail or clip when it is really hot and sticky. If I put on a headband it usually looks cute. When I have more time to curl it and wear it down in the summer the weather doesn't cooperate. :) Have a great weekend Beth.
ReplyDeleteOh la la! I loooove summer hair. I let mine go oh-natur-al. When else can I get away with it!??? And, I love that you have a Boston Whaler!!! My parents had one growing up and we LOVED taking it out in the ocean. So fun!!! They are on a lake now ... so we bid farewell to the sailboat and Boston in exchange for a Jones Brother boat. Summer was made for messy hair and boats! Xoxo-BLC
ReplyDeleteThat all sounds like fun to me! I can't wait to go up to the lake and sail in August. By the way, you look very sunkissed!
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic with the sunglasses and pulled back hair! I have wavy hair, so in the summer, Moroccan Hair Oil is the only thing that keeps it from completely being out of control.
ReplyDeleteHey, i own those sunglasses!! Looking fab, my dear. New to your blog.
ReplyDeleteB- I'm thinking of cutting my hair...what do you think? Happy 4th, sounds like you are going to have a ball! xoxo
ReplyDeleteyou are adorbs, we match- tons of freckles and frizzie hair- both good problems to have- means lots of pool and water time :)

You look like a beach beauty! Have a Happy 4th weekend. I won't be sailing, but will be riding a jet ski down a beautiful river. So a pony tail is a must for me. xox
ReplyDeleteI just love the headband in your hair! That look is in this summer.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great. I am so glad I found it.
xo marcie
Hey Hermes,
ReplyDeleteI want YOUR hair!
Beth... your hair is gorge so just shut the hell up already! And as you know I have fine, straight blond (with a little help from my friends!) highlights. A cute pony tail is my bestest friend!!!
It's got to be a mess. A handful of sand and a bucket of sea-salty water would just round of the look :)
ReplyDeleteYou're still fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love your sunglasses!
