Summer is over

I hope everyone had a terrific summer and Labor Day!!! We did plenty of celebrating at The Yacht Club. Greye came in 2nd for his fleet. We'll have a bit more sailing this fall but now I have to get back to reality.

What is your favorite part of Labor Day?

  3. My DH grew up sailing but the first time he took me out in a Vanguard I was freaking out. The wind was odd b/c it was on a man made lake near San Fran and houses all around the outside. The control freak in my was FREAKING OUT! :0

Labour day means no more pressure to wear tiny bit of clothing while trying to look skinny and cute!

  5. Well I actually love Memorial Day far more as it is the start of summer. But I did have a great weekend with several family events and a little last Lilly for the year. I am really really going to miss summer though!

  7. Cheers to Greye - great job there, guy! My favorite part of Labor Day was dining with family and friends at my MIL's club. We saw tons of people we know, the kids rode ponies, I enjoyed a bourbon & water (or two) and we soaked in the last of the summer evening, which was very pleasant.

  12. Congrats on Greye's accomplishments! The best part of Labor Day this year was that the weather in Dixie actually started to feel like fall...some years, it still feels like the heat of summer in October, so it was a nice&welcome change to feel some cooler temps already. Have a lovely week!

  13. Congrats to Greye! Sounds like a great weekend. My long weekend was relaxing and productive. I had lots of time with friends and by myself, cleaning, running errands, yoga, etc. The extra day made all the difference!

  17. Labor Day marks the passing of summer as well as the passing of the pigskin. The boys of summer are great, but the best part of labor day starts with the letter "F" and ends with the letter "ootball".

  19. I'm happy to hear Greye did so well! Yay! Back in the day when we had our lake house I bought a sailboat and adored sailing, even in crazy Texas Hill Country wind.

Also, you look fabulous my dear! Relish in it...

  20. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with much to celebrate - congratulations to Greye.

I absolutely love summer, so I like to really celebrate its leaving and the arrival of fall. A day in/around the pool with family, a few games of croquet and some good food.

  21. Big Kudos to Greye!!

Ahhh...I think this is a summer I am not sad to see to come to an end because of the pregnancy. I am ready for cooler weather, I'm ready to be done organizing the new house, and I am ready for baby showers for me (fun!). BUT...I will miss the relaxed summer attire at the office. :)

  22. Yea Greye!
My favorite part of Labor Day is celebrating my birthday and ... my husband's birthday too - our bdays are a few days apart and usually fall on Labor Day weekend. Party on!

  23. Oh, I am so happy to meet you! A social climber's blog. Perfect! Thank you for visiting me today where my "new look" debuted.
Don't know if it is clear with my new header that I am a jewelry designer, world traveller, magazine reader, great friend, a Texas & lover of dogs, but I am. We are going to be such good friends. xx's Marsha

  25. Congratulations to your handsome young man! What I love about a Lobor Day like we just had is the way the air seems to change magically. Warm & dry with a little breeze - and that you can still go to beach.
    Best,
    Colleen

My favorite part of Labor Day is knowing that Fall is just around the corner. :)

  28. I used to love the whole long weekend aspect of Labor Day and a last hurrah for summer. Now that I don't have the day off, it's just downright depressing. Up where I go to school, fall descends literally the day after. Labor Day was 90 and sunny. Today I'm in a sweatshirt and the leaves are turning orange. I'd kill for summer back!

  31. Congratulations. My son just entered 11th grade and it seems like he was just in kindergarten. Enjoy your time, it goes by so fast, as cliched as that sounds.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
