observations

1st I have a new age spot on my arm--this is the 2nd I've found this summer
2nd a lovely lady at the salon was discussing Twilight with me when she said the funniest thing I laughed out loud! "Edward is such a gentleman!" I almost died. He is, which is why we all love the vampire but I had to say and I did so with more enthusiasm than someone my age should have over this book/movie (I read the first book in 3 days which is amazing for me as I'm not a quick read or even smart) "he is a gentleman! He is only because he is afraid he might eat her!" Too funny!
3rdMany women my age are having mid life crisis. This is super annoying. I thought I was finished with having identity crisis. I know who I am, I have everything I want...and now I'm worried about it??? This is beyond not how I feel like spending the next few years. Advice would be great!

  1. I am staring 40 in face while realizing things just did not pan out as hoped for. So I am making friends with the life I have. Sorry I don't have any great words of wisdom for you.

  4. The 2nd Twilight book isn't as good as the 1st! But, the 3rd is better and the last one is fantastic!!!

  5. Midlife crises. Ah. I could talk for hours about this phenomenon. Already have, despite the fact that my best friend moved to Belgium. There are so many species of this beast that we need more information to comment well. 40? 50? Married? Divorced? Kids in the house? Kids out of the house? Career? No career? 31 flavors, as Baskin Robbins ice cream used to say.

  6. I love that Twilight is still such a hot topic! So funny! A friend of husbands said that he thought his wife was having an emotional affair with Edward! We had a good laugh!

  7. Well, my love I just reached 47 and couldn't be happier. I don't know why I feel like this, but I feel like life gets better as we get older. I am having more fun now than I did at 19! I look better, feel better, am happier in general - but why? I don't know - I have no 'miracle advice.' But I d have one question - do you have small children? Or teenagers at home? My daughter is 25 and my son is 15 and I think now that I don't have the responsibility of toddlers now I feel so free. Live the adage "Forget your age and live your life."

    Hugs! Kathie

  13. Well....I just don't think that someone with a hot pink blog who reads Twilight bears any evidence of being in any kind of mid-life crisis. :)

  15. Hi Beth, thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm on board with Kathie T. I'll be 48 soon and i myself have never been so happy.

My biggest inspiration is God, knowing HE is in full control of my life gives me peace. Knowing that the end result of anything is HIS will, not mine. Therefore this helps me to be not so conroling and have faith. if things don't seem to be in my favor then I know that's the way it's suppose to be.

I also try to be thankful. I look at all the blessings I have in my life and try not to dwell on "shouda, woulda... coulda's". Remember others have traveled the same path...had joys, trials and tribulations.

I once heard someone say "I want to give more than I consume". Thats one of my goals!

To volunteer is a great thing. It makes one feel like they are contributing, it's a great feeling.

Another thing I've learned is children need and want more of your time than things. Making memories with them is so rewarding. Children are a gift from God, not everyone can have them.

    Live in the present moment.

Parents need love and attention too. Going the extra mile for them is the thing to do.

    Beth, I helpful to you!

    CHEERS!
    Michele

  16. I love the Twilight saga! As for mid-life crisis, I've determined I'm not having one. For all I know I'm only going to live another day, which would mean my mid-life crisis happened around 15. And, if I live to be 105, then I very well can't have a mid-life crisis at 30. So it's off the to-do list. (I am, however, all about going crazy.)
