I hope everyone made it through the earth quake and is preparing for Irene.
I've learned something new about mean girls. Something, I'm sad to say, I'd never thought about before. I plan to include it in my new book but in the mean time wanted to share with you all. Imagine if someone is "THAT" critical of others what they must say to themselves. Really imagine, their internal dialog must be brutal. If someone is hard on others it means they are even harder on themselves. It's such a shame. Please try to say nice things to yourself, be kind to you!

I hate Mean Girls!
I'm so excited for Go Jane News, Oprah is featured today. Check it out HERE!!!
Today my sister, Dawn, will be gone for 6 years. Her birthday would have been a week ago and she would be 50. Dawn lost her life due to great loss & sadness. Which led to an eating disorder, (not because she wanted to be thin, she already was perfect), and depression which she self medicated with Vodka and cigarettes. I hope my parents don't read this one. My hands tremble as I type. I miss her but I know she watches me and my family from Heaven. Dawn was supposed to be a chef and go on to a great life but a sequence of events stopped her in her tracks. I've started a foundation in her name and plan to donate the proceeds from my next novel, which will be dedicated to her. I love you Dawn.
It is my mission to educate and try to help anyone in a similar situation. Life can be hard. Why be mean? I won't stand for it. I love all you bloggers! And thank you so much for your support, comments and friendship. But for every 100 of you there is always a hater. I know you don't want me to feed the trolls but I simply won't be bullied. And I won't allow anyone else to! If I can help 1 person, or 10 or 100 my life has meaning. And not just having the boys, help someone else I don't know. I won't tolerate mean girls. I don't like it. I don't care if you don't like me, I really don't. But, I will call you out on your behavior.
Monday, in my final post on being beth dunn an anonymous comment was left "Why didn't you eat at Merion Cricket Club, oh that's right, you're not a member."
1st of all, you read my blog and go out of your way to leave a comment-pathetic.
2ndly are you in 7th grade?
3rdly do you think you are cool to belong to a club? My memberships don't define who I am as a person.
4thly Why would I belong to a club that is 1 1/2 hours away from me?
Read between the lines!

Happy WASP Wednesday!
I don't have a picture as I'm all but spitting about this situation. BUT, let me first say--I've had the best few days. Philadelphia Film Office (a.k.a movie), Finding Skirtin Around (my new fav shop) and book clubs galore. I can even be skyped in-who knew. But I'm loving Monogram March. I'm just not into March Mean girls!!!!
SC/Mean Girls! Life Does not surpass 7th grade
I recently got a call from my friend Sally, regarding a situation of the tear inducing sort. Her young daughter has been subjected to her first dose of Mean Girls. But what bothers me more is how the Mother handled it!
Here's the situation: MM (Mean Mother's) daughter no longer wants to be public friends with Sally's daughter at school, only on the weekends. I"m not a psychologist so I cannot begin to analyze that. But MM's behavoir is what irked me. Her daughter is a permanent fixture at Sally's house, weekends, vacations-you name it. I've even met MM's daughter, that is how much she is there. Sally treats MM's daughter like her own, she'd do anything for her and has. When MM's daughter decided she no longer wanted the friendship what did MM do? What any MM mother would do-she called the school psychologist to get involved, not Sally. I'm being sarcastic here, wouldn't the appropriate thing be to call Sally? First, only if to give her a heads up. Nothing tramatic happened. Sally's daughter did not "do" anything. MM's daughter just decided she wanted to make new friends. What would you do? Am I off base here?
The story gets worse as poor, unsuspecting Sally's daughter gets called in and told she is no longer friends with MM's daughter. She was rightfully very hurt, not to mention she is a shy little girl with social anxiety (that the school and MM are fully aware). This situation could have been handled so much differently and it will never cease to amaze me how mean people can and will be

I may be Dunn but today I'm finally Finished!
Happy Preppy Friday.
Yesterday, obviously because of the mean girl, I had to take some personal time to unwind. I went to Rittenhouse Square for a mani (and chair massage while I was getting said mani), and met my bestie Kim for some wine and food at Smith & Wollensky inside the Rittenhouse Hotel. It did the trick!

Wearing my new Kate Spade dress and feeling the preppy love. Thank you for everyone's supportive and lovely comments. I have to share with you what Mrs. Snoots said to me, it is a quote from Dr. Seuss (my all time fav author) "The people that matter don't mind. The people who mind don't matter." After today I promise to learn to live up to this saying. You all touch me in so many lovely ways. Thank you!
So my final finished thoughts on mean girls:
The more people are talking about you, the more fabulous you are.
I know not everyone is going to like me or my novel Social Climbers.click here to purchase
BUT, I'm just doing my best in this world to get by, give back and live the glam life. All while trying to be a good mother, daughter, wife, and God lover.
Living well is the best revenge.
Obviously you are super sensitive and defensive to something you did that embarrassed you and your family. Don't take it out on me. Own your behavior. You were born an original, don't die a copy (stolen from my little sis QBS)
CAREFUL OR YOU'LL END UP IN MY NOVEL
