Yesterday I spotted The Fonz a.k.a Henry Winkler while dining at the rooftop pool at my hotel. He seemed to be losing his "cool!" I'll also share what stars really look like in real life, as I think their is a miss conception there too. I hope you have a great day! We have tons of meetings but of course, are squeezing in lunch at The Ivy!!

WASP Wednesday!

One Fabulous Mom and I ate at the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel yesterday. It was so fun, no preppies in LA LA Land.  We saw Demi Moore leaving as we arrived. Then we sat next to Posh Spice, a.k.a Victoria Bekham and had a clear view of Charlize Theron a few tables over.  It was AMAZING! But Liz and I were the only ones in Lilly Pulitzer, this job is going to be harder than I thought. Guess I'll just have to buy a house here so I can come visit more often. More meetings today, I'll keep you posted on who else I spot.

Socialite Sunday Giveaway!

I'm leaving for Beverly Hills so I thought it would be fun to giveaway an amazing organic line of facial products that are used by many of the celebs I may encounter.

Company Name:

Terralina

Founded when and where?

The Terralina Founders

Cousins by marriage, Patricia Bazán Garrubbo and Gina Garrubbo were inspired to create a healthy, superior skincare line when they were each pregnant. They were advised to think more critically of what they put in and on their bodies and not to use some common skincare products. What began as a concern for healthy living, led the cousins to co-create Terralina™.

Please provide a brief description of the company and the inspiration behind it.

Formulation Philosophy

At Terralina™, we believe that what goes onto your skin, goes into your body. We formulated our natural and luxurious line of skincare with your health in mind.

Using advanced formulations of natural ingredients, we bring you the most luxurious and effective skincare, without the use of harsh or harmful ingredients, such as parabens, PEGs, silicone, mineral oils, ethoxylates, glycols, acrylates, or artificial fragrance.

While many synthetic ingredients can be harsh or harmful, even some natural products contain allergens, such as peanut oils and citrus extracts, that may also irritate the skin. Therefore, we don’t believe that a product needs to be either 100% natural or highly synthetic to be effective. Rather, we believe that the best skincare comes from the deliberate and careful combination of natural ingredients and science.

We spent two years formulating our effective, safe and luxurious products using only natural and gentle alternatives to harsh or synthetic ingredients. As a result, all of our products are at least 98.85% natural. Instead of using silicone, we created a natural emulsification process based on the wonders of olive oil. We used botanical extracts and witch hazel instead of detergents and sulfates. The only non-natural part of our formulas is the preservative system, which is necessary to prevent any possible contamination. We are proud to use a gentle preservative system that is an alternative to the harsh alcohol or other controversial synthetic ingredients found in other skin care lines.

Our products are rich in antioxidants, such as Olive Oil, Olive Leaf and White Tea, to combat the damaging effects of free radicals. We use soy based ceramide to help protect the skin’s barrier function and hyaluronic acid and squalane to provide optimal hydration to the skin.

Do you have anything new or upcoming that you would like to share- i.e. website, store, line, etc?

Terralina is expanding its collection to include an eye cream and a larger size of our popular face cleanser.  Our goal is offer Terralina customers convenient travel-size items and specialized products serving the most common skincare needs.

Any extras and/or fun facts you would like to add about yourself or your company?

Terralina is a favorite amongst international celebrities.  Actor Alicia Silverstone and Supermodel Helena Christensen, who only use natural skincare in their daily regimen, are two of our renowned brand ambassadors for Terralina’s gentle facial cleanser with olive oil and botanical extracts.  Terralina also earned kudos from natural skincare expert Dr. Berson on NBC’s The TODAY Show, which profiled the Terralina exfoliator and its main active ingredient, the olive pit, as a must-have natural skincare item.

Bon Bon on SC Blog!

Welcome to my interview with Kristin from Bon Bon Rose blog CHECK HER OUT HERE!  Also Skip is having a great give away CLICK ON PREPPY!

Your blog is so popular! Congratulations. What do you do for a living? I'm a WAHM...so, I run the blog with my fabulous best friend of 15 years, Megan, and do some freelance writing on the side. To be able to stay at home with my little dude while doing something that I Iove is truly amazing!

How long have you been blogging and why did you start? We have been blogging for about a year and a half. It started as a creative outlet for both of us. I was a new mama and she was a stressed out MBA student. We had no idea how much a part of our lives it would become!

If you could wear only one designer who would it be? I would have to say 3.1 Phillip Lim. I'm a sucker for anything that sparkles and he's genius with sequins. I was lucky enough to be at his show in February at NYFW and it was A-MA-ZING!

Do you like preppy stuff? Why do you read my blog (I'm so honored that you do). I DO dig the preppy vibe or I wouldn't read your blog. HA! And I read it because you always give me my pretty preppy fix! Although, like most fashion luvahs I dig the edgier stuff...there's a Lilly lover in me too!

Isn't she adorable? Collars up! xoxo SC

Socialite Saturday frenzy

5 years ago my doctor induced me so that my son and Mother could have the same birthday. I gave birth to this:

Thank you God for gracing our family with Winfield Scott Dunn, named for his Grandfather and uncle. He is my little red headed devil. I'm not kidding when I say I may visit this child in jail one day. I love you little angel baby. I can't believe you are 5! I love you so much it hurts! Now I have to go shopping as I'm expecting millions of little babies today to swim in our pool. I hope you never lose your spunk kiddo-knock them dead. Happy Birthday.

Some lucky girl will marry this child. He brings me presents every day (toothbrushes) and gives me flowers everyday (who knows where he picks them). And puts the flowers all over my room and bed. Such a little love!

Happy Preppy Day!

I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer. They fund raise for so many worthy causes. Their main charity is Breast Cancer. Last night we had a preppy party for Team Challenge so of course, I was thrilled and honored to be asked to come sign copies of my novel.

The signature drink was The Pink Lilly--YUM! I picked out outfits (and birthday gifts for myself) for an upcoming photo shoot with a local magazine and met so many new friends.

Thank you Lilly Pulitzer for always making me smile!

WASP Wednesday

I hope this blog finds everyone well. I'm really well, I have news but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to blog about it. I also hope all you Main Line girls will be at Lilly Pulitzer tomorrow for our Team Challenge fund raiser at Suburban Square-there is not a cost to attend!  I get a lot of questions. I love it, thank you. But, the main one (and most humbling) is my diet and exercise regime. Please note, I'm not a size 2 but I take great care of myself. So here we go!

I'm a true believer in NEVER dieting. Instead I try to love myself (try being the operative word).  When I wake up I drink tea and take a ton of vitamins: calcium, vitamin d, b vitamins, fish oil, baby aspirin and COQ10.

I exercise every day but Sunday. I love taking a brisk walk (the sunlight has natural vitamin d) and the fresh air must be healthy-right? 2 days I do weights but not biceps curls, it's called something but just read the truth about 6 pack abs (which I do not have), it is weights but uses multiple muscles at once.  I finish off with breathing by Body by Zna and stomach vacuums (I do not do crunches-waste of time). Saturday's I horse back ride.

I live on the 1 food ingredient diet. If a food has more than one ingredient I don't eat it. I eat eggs, meat, fish, cheese, avocados, potatoes, beans. You can make a dish with more than one ingredient, but in their original formula they should be one ingredient. I also avoid soy, sugar, and wheat. But I love wine!

I want to get back to the loving of yourself. Don't look at the fat--look at your soul. Who you picture yourself as is more important than a dress size or a scale weight. One of the reasons I'm at the spa, or Lilly Pulitzer is I taking loving care of my body and it responds by being healthy in return.  Stay strong and love yourself!

xoxo

I love Whitney's necklaces

This is a dear friend who also happens to design beautiful necklaces ( I have one and wear it ALL the time). I figured I'd interview her. Enjoy!
Whitney, your jewelry is so awesome! What is your inspiration?
Thanks Beth! My inspiration comes from growing up with no money but always wanting beautiful things. As I got older I was blessed with a great work ethic and worked hard to support myself. I met my hubby and was able to start collecting beautiful beads of all sorts. To me it’s all about finding fabulous looking beads at affordable prices so I can pass that onto all of you!

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was little, I always thought I would grow up to be a news anchor or a fashion designer. I wound up going to college to receive my degree in Finance, go figure. I did work in the financial field during the best time when the economy was thriving. It was such an awesome experience, however like every roller coaster; the ride had to end at some point. But my future had other plans in store for me that I wouldn’t have imagined. That is why I feel that everything happens for a reason and sometimes the worst of situations can truly be a blessing in disguise.

Please tell my readers all of your jobs!
Are you sure you want me to answer this, it could be the longest answer..haha. Ok where do I start, currently I am the President and Founder of The Whitney International Network www.gotowhitney.com. I specialize in connecting people and I provide a service called a WIN Wing Woman where I will go with you to an event and help you network efficiently, or if you are single and need help meeting someone I will go with you to a function and help facilitate conversation with potential suitors. Either way I want to help you!
I am also a Councilwoman for Galloway Township, The President of the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees which is the Junior Chamber of Commerce. I am a member of great groups such as the E-Women Network and they nominated me as one of its Emerging Leaders in Southern New Jersey. I was chosen among 11 other finalists across North America and was recognized at the national conference in Dallas, TX this past summer. I am a member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners and was recently recognized during their women’s leadership event at the PNC Center as woman in a non traditional role with my success on council. Other groups which I am a member and I participate are: The South Jersey Women Network, The Atlantic City Public Relations Council, The Atlantic City Tourism Council, The Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association, the Galloway Township Business Association and more.
I serve on the board and fundraising committee for the Alcove Center for Grieving Children and their
Families www.thealcove.org.
In 2008 I earned the distinction of being named one of the Top 40 Leaders/Professionals under 40 years old in Atlantic and Cape May Counties by AC Weekly magazine. Subsequently I became a co-chair of that same event in 2009 and 2010; and now I am writing a weekly advice column for Atlantic City Weekly called Whitney’s Radar and I do a weekly TV Segment during the NBC 40 news called the Entertainment Minute along with a corresponding radio segment every Monday.
All of this and I still have a successful jewelry business with my pieces in great places around Atlantic County. And I have been able to maintain fabulous health through an all natural drink that is a blessing to everyone who has tried it. Let me know if you would like more information.
Bottom line, I love helping people whether it’s to get you a fabulous look for less, to meet new people to grow your business, or to meet a potential suitor. I am here for you!

If you could leave one mark in this world, what would it be?
We all have the opportunity to make a difference in our own little way and I definitely want people to know that success isn’t built on dreams. It’s built on having those dreams, knowing who you are, being yourself, helping others, and working hard. Also, being wealthy means having lots of money and assets to most, but remember one thing, if you don’t have your health and you do not have someone to love or love you then the definition of wealth won’t mean anything to you. Make sure to take care of yourself so you can help others and I promise that true wealth will follow

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day. We are loving ours. My Mother was hear for burgers and now I think I'll go watch a great movie. Today I wore the final shoe in my shoe contest. Christian Louboutins are beautiful, expensive and the ones I own have very high heels. Against my theory I find these less comfortable then my LV's. Also I'm disappointed in the box, my LV box is very fancy as is the shoe bag--not so with CL. The box is brown and looks like a brown bag lunch. But, they are beautiful. So my results are: It does not matter who makes them, if they were a shoe maker first does not matter either. Also the price does matter, the more expensive the more comfortable they are but...not always. My favorite are Jimmy Choo 1st, LV 2nd, and MB 3rd. Let me know which are your favorite!!

My dress is Lilly Pulitzer (duh). Don't forget to enter the Preppy Mafia Give away HERE!!!

A day in Lilly Pulitzer shoes.

Enter to win tons of preppy stuff at THE PREPPY MAFIA Giveaway!!!

Awesome socialite Saturday. Went riding, went to a cancer sucks fund raiser and tomorrow is Mother's Day. What are you doing for Mothers Day?  I wore Lilly Pulitzer shoes today. You all know I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer, but I find their shoes (at least the ones I own) to be absolutely adorable but can make my feet ache. In my sneak peak, behind the scenes tour this winter I spied a few that I think will reverse said opinion. I have my eye on a wedge among others I plan on buying at the event next Thursday.  I'll always wear Lilly Pulitzer--even if they are a 2 hour shoe!

A Day in LV

Hello and Happy Friday! Today I wore Louis Vuitton shoes. I know they were not originally a shoe maker but, I must say after getting used to super high heel I find these shoes very comfortable. I love the look of them, and while I can't walk fast they aren't bad.

I Did It!

I have a fear of speaking in public, not even a little.A LOT! One that can stop me dead in my tracks days before I even have to do it. Today, I had the honor of being asked to speak in front of the Ocean City Public Library at a Tea. I accepted the privileged and went straight to a doctor and a spa. Beta blocker in hand, I prepared a recap of how I came to write my novel, Social Climbers.  Not feeling a bit worthy of anyone's time, I fretted disappointment.  I know what Elenore Roosevelt said, "noone can make you feel inferior without your permission." So, I invited my Bestie Bonnie to come for moral support.  I lived, I wasn't awesome--but I don't think I totally stunk. I faced my fear, in fact my opening line was, "Thank you for sharing with me, the day I faced my worst fear..speaking in public."  With that I'll say I wore Kate Spade shoes all day, and while I have some that are beautiful and not comfortable, these were. Thank you Kate Spade for helping me stand, when I thought I might fall!

WASP Wednesday

Shoe? Jimmy Choo

I guess I should have saved these for the end of the week, hands down I find these to be the MOST comfortable pair of shoes. I could literally go jogging in them (not that I jog). I had an amazing facial today because tomorrow is my moment of pure fear-I've spoken in public before. But, usually with a glass of wine in hand and 10 other women. This is a whole new level, I have 0 idea what to expect and am quite confident I will stink. Wish me luck. What did everyone think of Laura Bush on Oprah yesterday? I cried, I love her and her daughters!

Shoesday

Hello, I hope this blog finds everyone well! Day 2 of wearing shoes-today was Manolo Blahnik. I love them, again-goes with my theory..he started off a shoe designer so even though they are MUCH higher than the shoes I wore yesterday, they are slightly more comfortable.

Sorry if the poor quality picture is a detraction-but my life is not a constant photo shoot (even if it feels that way to Husband). Dr. Oz postponned our segment-oh well. Honestly, I actually believe things happen for a reason. So, I'm home. Not in NYC. Less busy week=less stress.

Monogram Monday

Monday is here and I'm literally COVERED in pollen. Today I wore Gucci shoes.  I only have one other pair, the driving shoes. Both aren't that comfortable. These I've broken in, so to speak. But I love the way they look, so I endure. Again, not being the highest price shoe it is my theory that they are not the most comfortable. I love the gold horse bit like accent and I'm a slave to cute things that are not comfortable. What did Gucci do first? Was it hand bags?
